Chinese language: Weapon of mass confusion

Ever heard em talk? It's fast and crazy, and the strange thing is: they know what they're saying, but you don't. Suspicious....... They could be saying anything. Just think about it... There's 2 billion Chinese.
If they're all saying anything, one has got to say 'Destroy the world!!!!', or 'I have a Mother of all Bombs in my backyard'.
Conclusion: Reason enough to invade China.

Welll... keep in mind theres a lot of people in China... if you armed them all with sticks they could easily take over the world by sheer weight of numbers (assuming india doesnt do anything)

Nway.... Yes
This is how us Chinese people talk....

See the official language of China is actually English and everyone speaks it to each other for casual conversation. However when a foreigner/tourist comes by we immediately start babeling incomprehensible gibberish with too many consonants at each other until the guy leaves.

So there it is... keep it hush hush ok?

The stick thing doesn't make any sense. Chinese people are way too nice for sticks. By the way, they EAT with sticks. I don't see myself eating with my shotgun either.

And ofcourse, I'll keep it a secret ;)

Totally agreed! :D And just when you started to believe you were on the right track, you go to another province and lose it all again!

The real funny thing is, that most native Chinese speaking people probably think the same about the English language. Personally, I think this is a tad off the ball here. (@CE: Sorry Love, gotta disagree with you on this one :( ).

To them, it is completely comprehensible, because it is their language, not ours, not yours, theirs. I'm sure if we were fluent in either Mandarin, or the far more common, Cantonese(sp), the speed at which they spoke wouldn't even registar in our head. But even there, I happen to have a friend who speaks constant Chinese (when speaking with her parents, brother, or order food at a Chinese restaunt), and it is not so fast that it's incomprehenisble. It's merely not understandable unless you can speak it.

Heh, I was of course joking and I thought iki did too - it should be bleeding obvious that all languages you know are easy and all you don't are difficult, and the further away a language is from familiar language families, the more incomprihensible it gets. The most incomprehensible language I have ever heard was the kind of clicking noises languages still spoken by some native Canadian Indian tribes. (I met a linguist who studied native Canadian languages, so I go the opportunity to hear it although I have not (yet) visited Canada).
