Problems with sidequest in ch2 (poss spoiler)

I have problems finishing both sidequest from level 2 in the brothel in Luskan. There is a baby and a ring to be delivered. I have aquired both items (by killing the NPCs that had them) but is unable to deliver the items to the NPCs that gave me the quests.
I reckon there is some script that won't run, but I have no idea what the name of this script is. Or if anyone has had this problem and solved it: PLEASE give me the help I need.

I have upgraded to ver 1.27.

interesting that you have had this - I have the same problem - after talking with the Erb and Yvette my journal showed that I had the quest but I was unable to fulfill them - When I killed the characters to get the ring etc both Erb and Yvette aqted as if they had not given me the quest in the first place - I would be interested if you ever solved the problem - I just moved on and gave up!!!

Can't find much help with this problem.

Only piece of possible advice was to remember to talk to the guard you see when first entering Luskan, and remember to use all dialog options when talking to the quest NPCs.

It seems Luskan is/was very bugged, although I had no problems there.

Also lastly, make sure your game is fully patched (version 1.30 has been live for a while now)

I never had any problems with either of those quests.. of course i didn't kill the NPCs... i persuaded both of them.. bought the baby for 250gp... and got the chick to give me the ring by telling her she was breaking the law. and i was able to finish both quests without a hitch

I've got my game patched to 1.64 and I still have these problems. I even killed the lady with the ring once and Erb still wouldn't give me the dialouge I needed to complete quest. I also can't the dialouge I need from Galone (or whatever his name is). I also had this problem with the goul lord in the sewers (I ended up just killing him, but the quest is still in my journal) The only question I have is WTH!!!!!!

Does ANYONE HAVE ANSWERES TO THESE??

well friend, my last post on this site was right above yours, april '03, needless to say it's been a while sence i've played NWN, i've been hooked on StarWarsGalaxies for the last year.... but here is my suggestion, try moving your save games to another location, maybe even saving them to a floppy, then reinstall the game, DO NOT PATCH IT... everytime I read posts on people having problems with quests they always add that they've upgraded to whatever recent patch is out... I have NEVER patched a singleplayer game.. and I've also never had any problems with NPCs or sidequests, and this includes NWN, Baldur's Gate1&2, Fallout1&2...
and this quest in paticular I remember very well... I had no problems with it either... so I suggest reinstalling without the patch.... you might get past this... if you hit another problem, install the patch... thats the best answer I can give.

luskan guards

help... i'm new to the whole forum thing and i didn't notice anything yet about my problem. i killed the luskan guards. i couldn't get in (long story of why) so i was thinking i needed to force my way in. i've gone a long way since then, and don't have it saved b4 there anymore. is there any way to get out of this?

well it sounds like you're pretty bad off, If you've already forced your way in then I'm guessing you missed some story peice that lets you in.... but basically you might just wanna take the hit and go back to your last saved game, granted it isn't at the begining of the game... if thats the case then i'd say just roll with it best you can.... check out a walkthrough and see what you missed. Maybe you can still do whatever it was that you forgot.

Genereally speaking in the future - When starting new questions that aren't related to the topic, then please start a new thread as well. It is generally a good custom to do so, because more people are likely to see it and reply to it, as well as others with the same problem will have an easier time to find the thread. And especially do not bump old topics with off-topic questions

(I'll let this one slide for now... )

As for killing the guards - did you kill them prior to or after you have gotten permission to enter Luskan? Have you gotten perimssion at all yet?

actually i killed them b4 getting permission. now i talked to9 aribeth and the guy with her and was told to go to luskan and i would be let in. now when i go there there is always one guard, and he comes and attacks me.

ok, the guy with aribeth says his friend will let me in, there are now no guards at the gate but it says i need the key. i thought i had been everywhere except luskan... what have i missed?

Well - you shouldn't have killed the guards.
Is there a key on the last guard (the one who where supposed to let you in, after getting permission) body?

I'll have to look through the toolset to figure out if you can spawn in a key that can open the gates.

I've never killed these guards, so I don't really know by experience what to do.

Funny

funny this came up just as I am having trouble with Galrone and the baby.

I solved the ring quest and collected gold and XP but cannot get galrone to acknowledge the baby. And I've been through all of his and Yvette's options.

The quest shows in my log but no baby talk. Anyone got a clue what's happening or what I can do?

Oh I'm playing the platinum edition so I'd guess the bugs are mostly gone.
