The anti-Christmas list

Post by dragon wench »

Okay... well we all know that it is the thought behind the gift that really counts, not to mention that Christmas really has become far too commercialised.. But all of that aside, what things would you *really* not want to find under the tree? :p

Weasel? :D

But seriously, I hate getting books I don't like. People keep asking you if you read it, and if you liked it. :( It almost forces you to read them...

Before posting: I hope this is not going to be some kind of 'post here all the people you don't like' thread.
'I wouldn't like to find Bush there! OMG LOLOL!!11!'

Or something that wouldn't fit there, that's also not funny...
'I wouldn't like to find a firetruck there... LMAOROF'

Soooooo, what's left: I wouldn't like to find a book there, cuz I wouldn't have the time to read it. That's my answer...

Unless the person knows my tastes really well, I don't like to be given things like scent, bath products etc. Too many smell ghastly and have all kinds of ingredients that make me itch

Let's see.... socks, undergarments...
...cell phone (may as well be done with it and just get somebody a leash for Christmas) :D

I really don't like to get presents ever, so anything really.
I did find out that my wife got me a new stock pot though, I'm kinda looking forward to making Christmas Gumbo with that. :D

Ties. If I get ties, I get violent. Also, dumb stuff like nosehair-trimmers and travel-packed manicure kits. I also loathe obvious "bought in desperation down at the gas station at the last minute" gifts. If you don't know me well enough to know what I might want for Christmas, why would you give me a present in the first place? Give me a bottle of decent plonk and be done with it! Oh, and don't buy me music if you don't know what I like. I have an aunt who's been missing the mark for 25 years. "Oh, he plays electric guitar, so he must be into popular music, right? Let me ask the spotty idiot behind the counter what's popular now and get him that! Justin Timberlake you say?" Last year she made an effort. She finally figured out that I enjoy heavy metal.... and went on and got me Limp Bizkit.  :( :D

Finally, people who says "it's the thought that counts" can neither think, nor count. :p

A Golden Speedo. Oh, the horror. The horror, I say.

Oh dear...Just when you think you're safe from the voyeurisim of the dreaded Kris Kringle, you find out the Mods, too, have been keeping a naughty/nice list, and they aren't sending coal, either.... ;)
I sincerely wish we could re-consider this plan from a perspective that involved pants.

There are a lot of things I find useless that I've gotten over the years, but what I hate...My mother has a tendency to order CD's and movies in the summer through those Columbia house things, forget she's ordered them and wrapped them for the holidays and then does the same thing again for Christmas because she forgot she's ordered it. Do you have any idea how awkward it is opening up your gifts and finding duplicates of the same item a few years in a row? Last year, two of the same video, the year before two of the same CD and the year before, two of the same shirts. I had to give away my gifts to other people and play it off like my mom hasn't lost it.

What if it was a combination Clock/Beverage dispensor that fed you drinks on a regular schedule automatically hmm? Would that be a bad ticking gift?
