Money?

Just a question to those who've completed the game. Will money ever mean anything? Like other games I've played, there were some helpful items to buy in the beginning, but by the time you've got enough gold, you've probably already found stuff just as good if not better. Now I have almost 500K gold and haven't seen a shop with anything worth buying.

I only recall there being two shops and I don't remember either of them having anything better than the gear I'd found during the course of the game. So aside from the beginning money is useless.

Sorry, but I disagree!! Once I got to Sullymarsh and met up with the two Ormyrrs, Samaj & flem, I bought the 2 salves , arrows and most important, the 2 wands of chain lightning for my sorc. None of these three are available in satisfactory quantities any where else....Just exit Sullymarsh then come back to the Ormyrrs, who will be replenished so you can buy another batch,,,takes a little patience, but it's worth it!
