The inspection skill

Post by Ruds »

Just curious. I've played up TO but not through Chinatown and I'm yet to find a SINGLE item via the inspection skill.

Just checking, it IS passive, right? Has anyone ever found anything with this skill?

The sparkly stream rising from an item is the inspection skill at work. Kind of pointless IMHO, though it does point out a few of the more hidden items.

The skill is passive. Those little blue light you sometimes see around items are the effects of the Inspection skill. IMO this is the most useless skill in the game. Once you know where all the items are, this skill becomes quite redundant. It can make your life a bit easier, but there are much better ways of spending XP. After finishing the game twice I tend to give all my characters sufficient XP (through the console) to raise the investigation skill to 5, just so I don't have to bother with trying to remember where every damn item is....

OOoooooOoOOooooOOoooooh. Well I feel like an idiot now. I actually thought that's just what items looked like in the game world. Here I was being disappointed thinking that Troika was just holding my hand helping me find items like I'm not a big enough boy to do it myself, and it turns out that it's all my inspection skill, which I also thought was useless.

Man that clears up a lot. Thanks. Turns out I not know what do.

Don't know if it is a bug or intentional, but the secret switch in the library of Dr. Grout mansion won't be pushable without enough inspection skill to make it visible even if you know where to look.

Ahem.. Spoiler Spolier Spoiler:

Nah, I'd say that one was done on purpose. It makes sense.. You can't trigger the secret book in the book shelf unless you can SEE there is a seceret book in the book shelf.
I was Diablorised once. I got better.
