serious problem involving cult of the unseeing eye ques

Post by stupiduglyskank »

when i go into the area with gaal in it, the game screen goes black and crashes after a few moments. unless i pause the game, that is. it also doesn't do it during dialog. the same also happens in the area with the avatar. the screen goes black and i have to to ctrl alt delete to shut down the game. anyone know what my problem is? it's never happened before

i have a pentium iii 450 with an ati video card and 192 mb of ram. i don't see how any of this could be affecting it, though, since this has never happened before and i've gone through that area several times before in other games.

I had the same simptom, but mine was because my save files got corrupted. But yours sounds like a different cause, sorry.

please help me with this...it's even worse than it normally would be because i'm a ranger/cleric so i need this quest to get my stronghold. does anyone know the code for the depleted rod? i could get it to the avatar using pausing and ctrl J techniques, so if i did that would the game act as if the quest had been finished?

Mr, um, Skank, have you tried eliminating everything you can from your startup configuration? To see what's running, hit CTRL+ALT+DEL *once.* Several items probably aren't required (and the more prominent ones are showing in your sys tray). I'd close 'em out, and then try loading BG2--see if that works.

Otherwise, I suggest you call Interplay tech support. That's why they're around, after all. And they know best.
