Looking For Some Help on KotOR II Equipment

Hey everyone,

As I posted earlier today on our Star Wars: KotOR II site, I'm currently looking for help to determine which items I'm missing from our equipment database. I've cross-referenced our database to the listing in Prima's strategy guide and have found about 90 items that we're missing (although we have some that they don't). I'm betting most of these were removed from the game, but I don't know for sure, which is why I'm looking for some help.

I'll be listing all of these items below, so if you see an item that you *know* exists, please reply to this thread. And, if you have the necessary equipment to do so, please send me a savegame with the item in your inventory or a picture of the item's stats. Here we go:

I have been trying to get this Dazzle USB thing to work with my Xbox plugged into it so I can see it on my PC and take screencaps. Once I find a program that works with it, I will get as many screencaps as I can of items and their stats. I'm not sure of how good the quality will be.

regarding Visas Marr's Lightsaber

I think you can get it (although I don't have it) by building a lightsaber before you fight her for the first time...

if you don't have a lightsaber by that point, you get an emmitter I think, but I think you would get Visas Marr's Lightsaber if you already have a lightsaber

someone plz test out my theory...

Okay, the USB device I was using was too low a resolution for screen captures to be clear enough to read.

For the picture of the stats, I'm assuming you mean an actual screen capture, seeing those displayed for KOTOR. So, taking pictures with my digital camera would probably be useless, then.

Nice finds! Do you have access to an Action Replay? If so, you can copy the save game with these items in your inventory to your computer and then just email it to me. If not, I'm not sure how else I'd be able to get the stat screenshots. A picture from a digital camera just wouldn't look right among the other screenshots we have =).

How bad do the screens look through the Dazzle capture system?

Action Replay is basically just a USB base station and a 8MB memory card that allows you to copy save games to and from your computer. I think it's about $25 or so. Check out http://www.codejunkies.com for more info, if you're interested.

The highest resolution I can get is 352x288 (or something odd like that.)

Very low quality, and obviously very blurry when blown up.

I'll take a look at the Action Replay.

Action Replay certainly seems useful; I will probably purchase one within the next few days. I'll help out as much as I can with getting save games with these items; I've been very addicted to the game since it came out and don't think it'll wear off any time soon.

I just did this. I got my saber on Dxun and as I went to leave after coming back from Iziz, Visas was on the ship. I got a short lightsaber with no extra stat bonuses.

regarding taking screen shots, could you go over how you would connect your Xbox to you PC, and then how you would actually take the screenshot?

I donno how to do this, and if I do find something useful, it'd be nice to actually be able to do it

For screenshots of a useful resolution, you'd need a video card with video-in. What video card do you have?

Ok, I have found some of these, if someone can outline a good way to send a screen cap, I'll do that. But between kids and the Rose Parade, I probably won't be buying anything this weekend (unless for some reason Blockbuster has an Action Replay system, since it seems I can never have enough Sponge Bob DVD's, I guess I can look there.) I also have one of the memory cards for the X-Box, I have never used it though, I suppose I could mail that.

Gigiya - Although that's the highest resolution you can get, can you send me the statistics for the missing items you have? I cropped these and resized them, and although they get quite distorted, they're still readable. At least we could have something posted until I receive someone's savegame or the PC version comes out. If you're able to get them all, please try to get the entire statistics from top to bottom (using the thumbstick).

Confusion - Probably the best capture systems that are readily available at a local store would be ATI's Wonder series (HDTV is out now) or Pinnacle's Studio suite. Both of these are fairly expensive, though, so I wouldn't recommend buying them unless you have a good reason to use them. The biggest advantage of ATI's cards is that you can watch TV and play console games on a computer screen, which can be convenient at times.

So is there an item actually labeled "Visas Marr's Lightsaber", or is it just a regular Short Lightsaber? When I fought her, she claimed I destroyed her lightsaber during battle. Am I missing something?

I was able to get the Kyber Dart, Buster Rocket, and Plasma Rocket, thanks to a tip that you can create them on the workbench after Mira's in your party.

I recieved a double lightsaber, a standard lightsaber, and a short lightsaber from her. She drops a random one, but I have never seen one with her name on it.

Well, I'll look into it anyway. I don't need much of an excuse to get a new video card anyway.

Sadly, it's raining and again, Rose Parade traffic so I'm not going anywhere this weekend. Also, seriously though. I will mail a memory cartridge with the info, I never use the thing. But let's see what I can come up with over the next few days.
