Problems with video card

Post by hobbitfromhell »

Hi, I purchased NWN a couple months ago, couldn't run it on old computer then got a new one, it runs fine except I have a little problem that keeps me from playing.

Whenever I try to run the actual game, not the new character screens or any of those parts, the game itself, I can only play for a couple minutes at most before it crashes. I was able to finish the prolouge once by replaying areas 6 or 7 times over before I was able to go through a door without the game crashing. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it, used the update feature and got all updated, then made a character, hit start, the game started with the voice over then crashed.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem, I talked to a friend and he said there is a patch that deals with this, if so could anyone give me the link? Any help is apprieciated, the game looks sooo cool but I can't play.

The game is updatable from the game menu. Just press update instead of play when launching the game.

I did that, but I still have the same problem. I'll try again later today, to see if the updater missed anything, thanks anyway.

I have problem with playing the movies, like the prelude and chapter 1 movies. Both the video and audio would play for a few second or two, stop and then play again, so it takes a while before the movie finish.

Apparently, I don't have any problems with playing the movies at the main game menu.

I don't know if it is my sound card or graphic card. I had this same problem with the Elder Scrolls' movies.
