probably a stupid question...but the eyes are starting to bug me

Post by JadedE »

why is it everyone i meet has no pupils? their eyes are all completely white. I thought at first it was a vampire thing but EVERYONE is the same. Is the game supposed to be like that? I thought I saw screenshots before of people with normal eyes, so is this some weird glitch, or is it jusst a problem i have?

oh and off topic but seems to make sense to put everything in one thread:

Trying to find medicine for mercurio, went into the clinic, alerted cops and ended up killing them, but can't find any meds. Where do you get them?

The eyes thing sounds like a bug. In my game, people's eyes are almost unspeakably gorgeous and I can only think of one NPC (Pitha) who has a weird eye thing going on -- but she's supposed to.

As far as the medicine, IIRC it's in the perscriptions room upstairs. Any bottle of morphine will do, though, and there are many throughout the game.

Well, I got the medicine without having to fight anyone, but anyway, the morphine bottle is in one of the doctors' room, on the ground level.

Does morphine has any use for yourself, i'm currently carrying around 3 bottles or so.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Hm alright, will check out the bottom floor more thoroughly....

But damn, it seems like I'm the only one who has the problem. Been searching other forums and I can't find anyone with the same problem. It's really a emerrsion destroying glitch here. =,= kinda makes me not wanna play until i fixed it >_<

A short map to the drugs: Go right past the counter, turn left and walk through the hall and then turn right. Its the door at the end of the hallway on your left.

The eyes is a bug.

ok with a closer look on the eyes i think i saw that their eyes did actually have pupils and such, well barely. maybe they're reflecting light too well? I think I saw someone mention something like that somewhere but i can't remember where. The eyes look like they're glowing.....really creepin me out when u're in a dark place and u start talkin to a prostitute...to see her eyes so bright.....not like blinding bright, but they have a strange pearly luster...

anyone encountered anything similar? any advice to fix it?

oh and thanks for the help finding the medicine...damn i ransacked the top floor for nothing *shrugs* prolly gonna end up having to go up there eventually anyway.

the wierd eyes sounds like a GFX card problem..

either newer drivers for you current GFX card or a new GFX card altogether..

i have similar texture problems .. but they're nothing major
eg: in some cut scenes when talking with an Ai character the inside of their mouth in bright pink..where in some others its a normal dark red/brown..

GFX problems im finding

- pink inside mouth with some Ai conversations.. not all
- some cars are dark blue where they should be shadowed
- faces are red where they should be shadowed
- some walls have dark blue spots like the car texture

- these are just my GFX card and the low settings i have it on.. i dont notice it that much in game .. the pink mouths is probably the most annoying .. but i like i said.. doesnt bother me that much

i think the bright pink mouths thing has something to do with your directx settings. when i forced mine to run using dx 8 it did that. there are a lot of graphical glitches in the game like that, but nothing a nice little patch won't fix.

I found out by playing Vampire on my laptop that eye are missing if have an old card without pixel shaders. Probably a bug, since there IS a fallback path for DirectX7 cards and this is another sign that nobody bothered to test this game on a Geforce2, 4MX, Ati 7500, etc.

Although I never experienced the "eye glitch", i experienced somthing much worse.

The first time I saw the snuff film in Isaac's player, the bizzare creatures had white and purple diamond patterns on them instead of the actual scaly brown skin. It had me wondering why the video has everyone spooked since it looked like the creatures were wearing clown costumes. Good thing the correct textures were loaded after I reloading the game.

Both Pitha and Beckett Have wild eyes as i recall, well i finished the game a long time ago so my memory does not serve me right.

oh, and its pisha not pitha, pitha in hebrew is some sort of bread, and pisha means Pee in russian (which is somewhat more funny).

Little Bozo headrunners. Now, that's a nightmare worthy of a little Photoshop conjuring...
