What items to bring into ToB?

I am about to leave Amn for the last time to face Irenicus, and was wondering what items can be upgraded or are otherwise useful in ToB. I have many weapons stored in the CC, but would like to take only the best with me into the expansion. Any help would be greatly apppreciated.

Definitely take the Flail of Ages. That weapon ROCKS in TOB. I think the only other weapon from SOA that can be upgraded is Carsomyr. All the others you find in either Watcher's Keep or TOB.

Thanks. I take it that I should also bring along the uber-items from SoA as well? Blackrazor, SotM, Crom Faeyr, etc.

You will probaly take this anyways put the cloak +2 is upgraded as well. Me I took way to much stuff with me. I feel like a pack rat. I still have Bohdi heart with me. Do not ask why. I even do not know why.

Staff of Magi
Ring of Wizardry
Robe of Vecna

Fighter:
Ring of Gaxx
SILVER SWORD
Helm of Balduran
Dragon Scale Armor

Thief:
Cloak of Non Detection
(Sorry I don't use Thief in my groups)

Misc:
Scroll of Magic Protection

Brng the chan mail that can be worn by mages, t can be upgraded also IIRC!

Yes, the bladesinger chain can be upgraded and it's probably the best armor in the game.

Bring stuff to sell for gold, you'll need it for upgrading (start with at least 70K). Also useful items are: Cloak of Mirroring, Soul Reaver (still be best 2h sword), and all of the giant strength girdles.

Oher SoA items that stayed useful until the end for my party were:

Ring of Fire Control
Ring of Earth Elemental control (+1 AC even with armor
Cloak of the Sewers (same deal)
Bracers of Weapon Expertise

I never used the cloak of protection or any rings of protection in ToB because everyone found magical armor they liked.

I guess its "needles to say" that any Monks out there should hold on to or go back and get the Guantlets of Crushing, Scarlet Ninja-To, and Ring of the Ram.

Come to think of it.. it should be fairly evident which uber items would be essentral in ToB

.

As for Coin:
well.. should have a fair stockpile. If not, it’s not really a prob in ToB as theres loads of wealth lying about – too much one might say.
