xpack?

sorry if there has already been a thread on this or something but i was just wondering if there will be an expansion pack for this game. my idea would be in NYC or something, but with missions in far away places out of the city that you take the taxi to. it also might be cool if you could play as the two sabbat clans or for any of you who have played the RPG maybe one of the independent clans, like the gypsy one or something.

I have not heard anything on an expansion yet(or have I...?), but I have heard of someone making a movie on it. The article, which is actually found on GameBanshee news, can be found here Enjoy!

Well here's the thing... if enough people buy the game we will very likely see an expansion sometime soon. I mean why not milk a franchise? Also there's enough vampire material out there for Troika to make a dozen expansions.

Second, there is the player made content which might start popping up. My experience with other python scripted games is that game mods where pretty hard but actual storylines and so one where a real pain to do, but maybe things have improved since.

If so the limit is the imagination and skill of the modders. Perhaps a sabbat mod where you have just digged yourself out of a grave? A mod that takes place in an exotic locale like Tokyo or a vampire staple like London or New Orleans?

Time will tell.

No SDK from Troika = no mods like you suggest. We're lucky we have conversation editors, texture hacking, stat tweeking, and the new clans that some people have created. Right now its almost impossible to edit maps, so creating new ones is pretty much a pipe dream.

Beyond what we have, we have to look to Troika for more content. And that's not exactly encouraging. Arcanum won RPG of the Year and such, but other than 3 or 4 patches, Troika never really added to it. Temple of Elemental Evil has an even worse history.... It would certainly be a change of heart for Troika to add something new to Vampire, but who knows? The ultimate decision is Activision's, and that will be based on how much the game sells. We can only pray (and go buy more copies) now. :p

Don't quote me, but:

I heard activison washed their hands of the whole project, leaving the original developers a little in the learch... according to some people, we were lucky to even get the v1.2 patch, let alone any expansions or new games. Mind you, as I said, don't quote me on that.
