Charecter creation problem!
Charecter creation problem!
Hay guys i've got a quick question. Ok so soldiers are meant to be joint with jedi gardian, scout joint with jedi sentinal etc. Now soldiers have a fast feet progression and so do jedi gardians. Jedi counselers have a slow feat progression. I want to be a soldier because they have fast feat progression and then i also want to be a jedi counseler because they have alot of force points, but also have a slow feat progression. Will the jedi counseler cancel out the soldiers fast feat progresion and make it become slow feat progression or will they join together to make an average feat progression like a sentinal or will it just stay as fast feat progression. )sorry about the extensive use of feat progression lol), cheers guys.
Rock on, Rock hard & don't look back!!!
The fast feat progression will only be a fast feat progression during your time as a soldier. When you get your first Jedi level (in Consular in this case) the feat progression will become slow.

This is only a suggestion on the part of the game developers for easy progress. Most of us have enjoyed other mixes very successfully. Typically, I'll start with a soldier, than go for the jedi type that offers the greatest number of feats. Skills count for nothing in KotoR, so I leave them to my teammates.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Yup, the soldier-guardian, scout-sentinel, scoundrel-consular is only a suggestion.
Example, I kinda stuck myself exclusively to guardians. But I found that I enjoyed both soldiers and scouts variations. I like to have both the implant and toughness feats. Flurry or power attack is not much of an issue to me. After choosing my feats and having decided on my character alignment, I realise that my PC dun need more than 100 FP for most of the game.
Scout - guardians give better Fort/Reflex/Wis saves, Uncanny Dodge and some extra skill points. But they are a little weaker in combat and melee. Soldier - Guardians have the BEST attack ratings and have the most VPs. But they completely lack skill points, rendering any hope of a successful persuasion.
So, I suggest you spend a little time deciding what FEATS you want and what ALIGNMENT you want.

In the end, everything will be alright. If it is not alright, it is not the end.
Guardians only get one more feat than the other classes, and thats at lvl 7.
Kinda stupid isn't it?!
The manual gave the impression that guardians would have much more feats. But that is not the case. But after a little planning, I figured that guardians still have the best attack ratings and the most VPs.
I posted in "not saving levels" the reason why a cross-class guardian would be better than a pure (level 1 to 20) guardian. Feats are important to melee tankers. And a full level 20 guardian just dun make the cut.

For an example, just look at Juhani.
I'm playing a 7/13 Soldier/Guardian and she is owning all Sith on difficult setting, solo.
Feats are everything, skills can be enhanced with items. By putting 1 Skill in Computers, I can enhance that up to 11 with items for my hacking skill. Similar things apply for security, demolition, and awareness.

another question
Hay i need info again. wot does charisma do. it say it adds modifiers to force related feats and powers, but what does it mean by modifiers. I have noticed that somtimes jolee bindo gets 2 force powers in stead of one (u know wen u go a level and u pick a force power). is this because he is a jedi counseler or is it because he has got a high charisma coz i wouldn't mind gettin 2 force powers every now and then. Help wanted ASAP as im waiting to start a new game, cheers guys.

Charisma effects your ability to successfully use a force power and, I think, increase the possiblity that you will save vs an enemy's force power. (via the +modifier gained at levels 12/14/16/18/ect) For example, (this is an example because I can't remember an exact formula), you cast Stasis on an enemy and the formula would look something like this: (5 + Wisdom Mod + Charisma Mod + Character Level) The number created by this formula is what the enemy need to save at, or higher, so the Force won't work him/her. I'm not positive about the role Charisma plays on your saves.
Your Charisma Modifier also helps increase your Pursuade skill.
As for Jolee getting 2 powers on some levels, I believe that is one of the perks of Consular, more force powers than all other classes.

This is true. lv4 soldier lv16 consular for me. I got Master critical strike master flurry and improved power attack. Since I got master speed as well, it makes him a combat tank.
