Is it worthwhile to be bad?

Post by Beren »

It seems to me it may not be worthwhile to be evil. Playing the game as a good guy is heartily rewarding, because the people cheer you and women love you and children say, "I want to be just like you when I grow up!!!" On evil everyone so far has booed me (mind you I've been evil for about three hours now) or said, "Leave, Saber." Plus the guy looks dumb with horns coming out of him. Is it even worthwhile to be bad? Please people, tell me at some point in this game it is awesome to be evil, or that people fear you, and are submissive, because this outright hostility is just taking all the evil right out of me.

Does the bald patch go away if you're all the way evil? Because it looks really gay. Like if I get FULL evil, will he have a full head of hair? And also, once you have a bald patch, if I become less bad... will it go away? Or is my character forced to be ugly for the duration of the game?

as you get more and more evil your hair will darken but will then disappear from the top as your horns grow. (you're better-off being bald. trust me)

Oh and the sword of Aeons is just plain silly.
Remember in Final Fantasy where this little girl was wielding this sword the size of a truck? Same rule applies.

The damage on it is brilliant but I really do think it's a little 'over-styled'

Bad or Good....

It's just too hard to be good. And if your worried about people hating you and booing you; don't worry for long. I'm 47 years old and as evil as can be but my attractiveness is 100+ so all the girls, strangly some guys too..., seem to be in love with me. So what I do is I go to a place near Darkwoods and take 10-15 people with me and slay them all in the Temple of Skorm. Don't ask me why the idiots follow an evil person around. And about the baldness thing, don't do it; just steal, or buy if your a loser ha ha, a helmet to make yourself look like a badass. The best haircut suprising is the normal haircut; 49+ scaryness and attractiveness. And the sheriff's beard won't do you harm. The howl tattoo would help your sexyness too. Along with the spider tattoos and the skorm tattoo, anyway just because your evil doesn't mean you have to look like your ugly. You can even confuss people and obtain, steal, the bright plate armor and put that on; it's quite funny to see the people give me strange looks and think that I'm "mr. hero" because of my bright and shiny armor. Or you could obtain the bright dress suit.....I have no idea why anyone would want to be gay in this game, must be the "gay is acceptable" thing that's going around. Anyway there are a variety of clothing obtions you can obtain, just make sure you wear a hat o.o. Or you really will look like a really weird freak-0.

Yeeeeah!

Being evil kicks arse: The freedom, the extra loot, the marriages followed subsequently by their mysterious dissapearence leading to your inherriting their money, the list goes on.

My only beef is the hair loss as a result of horn growing (horns should have totally been optional, because all I wanted was glowing red eyes)
Get up, stand up. Come on, throw your hands up.

well, I was playing it this morning and to my surprise I grew no horns but got my evil stats to the fullest while wearing the bandit gear and murdering everyone in oakvale and barrow fields... when I went back to the guild to get my stats up and took off the bandana i barely had any horns so it might help if you wear a helmet :D

The bright and dark clothing makes your alignment modifier longer than what it was supposed to be. Try it, be full evil and wear something bright, your alignment will shift towards good a little bit, then once you remove it your back full evil again, regardless of this change your alignment is still the same. As in if you wear bright clothing while full evil you will still have red eyes and big horns.

weel this is an interesting thread...

beren i have two characters and it is more fun to be evil - more freedom, cooler armor, the horns get crazy go nuts when fully evil. And please dude, dont be calling the bald patch gay. If you think it makes you look cool to be against homosexuals, you're wrong. let me also say i am as straight as a radius of a circle (strange analogy but o well) so dont get your hopes up by trying to talk s.hit about me. And speaking of gay, i think its kind of funny that you said: "yeah my guy looks ugly with blah blah blah." well buddy if you are one to judge men and be against homosexuals as well... you need to either make up your mind about one or the other, or you could just shut the hell up.

It's much more REWARDING going bad, the monetary rewards are usually higher and more abundant for following that path to the dark side. It's more enjoyable too, I think, and though women and children in towns boo at you, some quick lightening will fix that, and the bandits at Twinblades will worship the ground you vomit on.

But is it ever possible to get a halo after growing horns? Ive donated rediculous amounts to the Temple of Avo, and haven't gotten so much as a butterfly's flutter. Any suggestions?

Oooh good topic. Evil is definately more rewarding.

Yes you do get the bald spot, but who cares? I usually give my guy the trader moustache and goatee with a bald head. Looks like a little devil if you bring magic up all the way for glowing tats.

Women and children do boo at you, which is too bad.
Or is it? Seems to me that YOUR EVIL. Kill them if they're bothering you.

 Not a good example. This game is about the Sword of Aeons, it supposed to be ultra powerful. FF7 wasn't about Cloud's Sword, though I'll admit it was pretty awesome.
No probalo.

evil rules...

being evil myself i have to say it's better to play an evil character...

but having completed the game three times, all with different alignments, it's a lot easier if you're good! people don't run away from you when you're trying to talk to them, which really gets on my **** =)

evil is still better though =D
