Well, I could do it the well known cheesy way only: got my party (well, myself and Kivan) to stand in the small island in the middle of the lake, lured Drizzt close with Branwen (considered her death as a sacrifice for Talos
). She was killed in an instant, of course, but meanwhile I could take Drizzt down with hundreds of arrows (Potion of Haste helped a lot).
@Hairy: I wonder how he reacts when he sees his own stuff in my hands...? And how does he explain his miraculous resurrection?

Up the IRONS!
I killed Drizzt once just to see if I could. I refuse to do it any more, because I like Drizzt.
Basically, I just summoned about 30 skeletons and had them all go after him. I had my archers using +2 arrows, cast chant and bless for the bonuses, and threw a few magic missiles in for good measure. He went down pretty easily.

@Brynn
I think you can explain his resurrection in the fact that he is really the son of god...
Well, son of a Trademark clause owned by WotC, anyway. The fine print precludes any permanent death or disfigurement. In game terms - his dwarf mate probably paid for it.
@LotharBot
I used to like Driz'zt too. Until I played/GMed about three dozen DnD games where some wide-eyed fanboi said "my characters is a drow but he's good and wields two scimitars and has a statue of a pather and is a 900th level ranger..." blah blah blah. You know, hitting people with chairs is considered assault? I didn't know that for the longest time...
@DarkAngel
You can only get Driz'zt's items off his cold, dead body. No other way (unless you cheat!).
Cheers,
TGHO
but if hes dead he can't be angry if you taken his stuff,and you loose all your items when importing to bg2soa. or is it in bg1 he gets mad?
I believe you find his items later on if you import a character wiht his items in your inventory. Or you can use the "pause trick".
He gets mad in BG2

He gets mad in BG2
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Hmm, I thought you could locate his two scimitars in Irenicus's dungeon when you start BG2 (assuming you had them on you when you saved your PC from BG1).
And it's in BG2 he gets mad. Very very mad. But by the time you run into him, he's a wuss.
Edit: Yes, he's been raised by his friends.
Cheers,
TGHO

i don't think irenicus cares about money, he's beyond such things IMO..
you can actually steal the +3 scimitar from drizzt with a good thief..
i've killed drizzt with 2 blows without cheating.. i used maxed fighter thief with staff of striking and after two backstabs he's dead.. i'm not trying to brag since anyone can do it, but just mentioned to mention the fact that with the right eq and right char anything can be done..
i hate killing him, but it's his fault he has the best weapons and armor in the whole bg1..

Imoen is assuming - she's guessing, based on what she would do if she suddenly had a pile of gear in front of her. I doubt Irenicus really cares about money, he's more concerned with other things.
I'm pretty sure that if you are carrying Driz'zt's gear that you can find it within Irenicus's dungeon anyway. I don't think he's sold off that gear (which is understandable, as it's "signature" gear - i.e./ many people would be aware that it belongs to a powerful persona within the world, who may want it back!).

I've never killed Driz'zt. Even my evil parties have gone "Eh, why bother."
