Strange new glitch perhaps?

Post by domovoi »

Hmm im in china town beating down the 'eastern vampires' on the 'Ming must die' quest, and as i go down the stiars and into the place where theres a hell of alot of guards, i move through there and to the door with the bar for a lock... it seems the bar wont move when i hammer the use button... is this a glitch or am i just being stupid here and have fergotten to do something?

solution

I strongly suggest saving before trying this as it is possible to get wedged!

however, the solution to the immobile bar problem is to jump on the left end of it and push from being perched on it. after that, and a few jumps on the end to knock it as far as it will go, you switch to the end with the handle - if you are lucky, you can hit a 'sweet spot' and it slides, but otherwise, once the bar is level with the supporting bracket, save again and jump on the bar that end. can take 10-20 minutes on a bad run through, as sometimes the bar slips back. :(

A cheating solution

If you get seriously annoyed, like me, you could always use the 'noclip' cheat. Just go through the door, and turn noclip off again. Doesn't affect any of the game.
