Post by JimmyC »

Just a quick opinion pole......i'm playing a brujah right now, and have been loading up on celerity, but am unsure whether to focus on presence or potence after that....i think i'm leaning towards presence, but what do you guys think?

Well we can put it this way:

Potence: added damage that cant be blocked with every hit you do.

Prescence: affects all those around seriosly hindering their fighting and aim besides sometimes stunning them.

To me high level prescence sounds like a better deal, especially since I made it through the game with a very weak and non hand to hand skilled character and still whupped most badguys with my fists. That gargoyle? He didint know what hit him and I had like 2 strenght and 5 unarmed.

Depends on your style of play though....

If you want to be the meanest dude in melee combat, use Potence to give them a lot of damage. If you want to soften them up beforehand, to make the fight easier, go for Presence....

Well I used Potence and the gargoyle didn't like that either...

Both are good disciplines, but with Celerity you don't really need them, so just do what fits your style, like the last post said. I often use Celerity and forget to activate something else before I've killed everyone - you may even want to spend the XP on other things than disciplines. Personally, I want my Brujah to hit hard, and that's what Potence does for you.

If you dont want to have "boss troubles" then youll take potence, if you want it easier against thugs, use precense..

But I'll always take potence, more use for that,, a level 3 precense is enough to pass the game :D .

good luck

I gotta say, since the boss battles were all one on one, I never really worried about them too much... I went for presence, working on the assumption that I'd rather walk through a crowd of stunned mortals who were doing exactly 0 dammage each attack then have to slog it out for hours... Like in the KoE mission, with all those asian people.. I mean.. I know at least 4 or 5 asian cities that should be devoid of people after the amount of murder I commited!
I was Diablorised once. I got better.
