Go back to a previous save kill a peasant, and then go pick a fight with firkraag. You were too "good" for him I guess. That's the only thing I can think of.

This might be too late to help damo, but when you fight Firkraag, Edwin will leave if your Charisma is less than 9. Reputation has nothing to do with it. Apparently, the NPCs in your party (excluding Keldorn) need a lot of persuasion to challenge a dragon. When Edwin leaves, he's gone for good.

That is true and also fighting him doesnt grant you any reputation points. you get those after talking to the child you saved.

i did the reputation decrease today in ust'natha by buying the slaves then telling them to goto the temple to be sacrificed (hahahahaha) im C/G too and it seems to have stopped edwin from constantly leaving now.
my character always has the CHR 18 ring on if it makes a diff, im sure i didnt have edwin on board when i wacked firkraag also.

If you need to decrease your rep just use the old method of turning yourself slayer a couple times.
Also remember if you have a rep of 20 and then get Edwin to join... as long as your rep doesnt get to 19 he'll whine but stick around anyways.

Does this work with other evil characters?
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
