Which music is which?

Post by Cryos »

I'm not good at hearing all the lyrics in songs, put it that way. I know theres a list of music at the back of the manual. But I don't know which is which. And I'd love to know, some of the music is great, especially the credits. Obviously Lecher ***** is the last round theme. And I'm guessing the asylum bar was isolated. Just need a bit of quick help there. Mainly the name of the credit's music and band and same for the music that plays through the radio on the beach and in the empire hotel dance room.

Credits band:

Lacuna Coil

Great italian band that started with metal and now produce a very gothy and pretty form of... well... I guess it's still metal. Often compared to evanescence, only of course Lacuna Coil has produced 5 time's more cd's.

Edit: decided to add a recomendation if you liked Lacuna coil... you will probably flip over nightwish if you havent heard them already. These two band's have the advantage that female vocalists cross over easily so they have a decent following in the US and a huge one in other countries.

Links should take you to their century media pages where you will find mp3's, videos and stuff like that. If you decide to buy their cd's century media is pretty cheap compared to some other companies. Yeah... century media sends me stickers and and free merch... that's why Im doing this comercial for them.

All of the music can be found in one of the game folders. It's in mp3 format, complete with titles and artists. Both thumbs up to Troika for this...

I'd need to use that unpacking tool to look at the mp3s wouldn't I? In any case, thanks for the help.

Nope, the game's music and I think the radio loops are all in mp3 format before you unpack, it's just a matter of poking around and finding the right path. I know because I was very hesitant about unpacking yet I was already enjoying those mp3's way before I did.

Big recomendation though... if you are going to check 'em out I recomend you copy them and paste them elsewhere. People seem to be having trouble with mp3's used by the game which they opened with winamp.

Thanks. Found 'em. I love both those songs, more so Swamped by Lacuna Coil, though, both the music and the lyrics, althougth I find them shortish. Might have a try at some music from nightwish like you suggested. But I'm not a very music person, my music life basically extends to that if I hear a song I really enjoy, I have to have it, I own so few music cds. My likes are also semi-scattered with music, too, I'm not saying theres no pattern, but eh, you get the point.

Anyway, thanks, I also made sure to copy them out of the folder as a pre-caution.

I was so happy to see Genetortures and Ministry (i got to meet Al and Gen in person) featured in the game, Leacher B is one of my favs, and live it is soo uhm entertaining :D . Ofcourse Tiamat is fantastic. Chiasm's Isolated is actualy quite popular within the Goth Club scene. Infact they just played it at my local club last weekend, ofcourse i had to think of the Asylum when i heard it. Shame the likes of Skinny Puppy and Das Ich did not have songs featured.

when I get home from work I will raid the MP3s - I really like "Isolated".

As a teenager I was really into the metal of the time (Black Sabbath, Saxon, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Blue Oyster Cult and the back catalogue of Deep Purple, Hawkwind, Led Zeppelin etc) - so I have a soft spot for HM derivatives. I like making music "videos" for fun (AVI/MPEGs) - any recommendations on vamp films worth ripping a few seconds here and there? (gorgeous pale women in flowing velvet dresses etc)

Before anybody reminds me, I know that it may be questionable from a copyright POV, but it is a lot easier than originating content yourself and the learning process of making a rock-vid is worthwhile. ...and it is only for personal use/learning.

Hmmm... depends what kinds of video you are working on. I've seen lot's of "amateur" music videos floating around the web (mostly set to anime) and hey, it's a hobbie just like any other one.

So if you are going for a white zombie style video (that cult 50's b movie feel) I highly recomend you look into Vampira who's pretty much half betty page (HOT 50's pin up artist) and half Morticia (had a similar show, had similar... uhm... assets). If you've seen Tim Burtons tribute to Ed Wood you know who I am talking about. There's plenty of other oldschool vampire hotties but that's a great place to start.

For modern film... hm... the most "iconic" I can think of (in other words that actually look like vampires) would be a certain 3 young ladies in a very good Francis Ford Coppola film. In other words that scene in Bram Strokers Dracula where Keanu get's "mauled" by models.

The shame of the whole thing is that Activision decided to go with the "bigger" name bands for the soundtrack. They should have used some of the bands that were on the various posters throughout the game; namely, Bella Morte or The Brides. Now that would rock.

Kudos to their addition of Daniel Ash, though...

The Gen Song is playing in the Last Round, the anarch Bar in downtown.

Leacher B**ch, rocks!!!

Live, its even more glorius.

I would have liked to have seen more Industrial/EBM bands in the game, like Skinny Puppy or Wumpscut. Its just more of a Goth/Urban enviorment type of music, then say Lacuna Coil.

I nearly creamed my pants when I entered the Asp Hole in Hollywood, first I just thought "gee, I recognize that tune", and then when I realized it was 'Cain' by Tiamat... well, I was damn happy. It's a great song and considering the title, it surely fits in the game.

They did very well on their choice of music in this game :)

I nearly fell of my chair when I saw the Comalies cover in the first haven,
and then hearing Swamped in that bar.. it can't get any better than that :D

(yeah.. as you probably figured out by now..
I'm seriously addicted to LacunaCoil, lol)

I might add that they released a new cd the 4th this month :)
