Odious Chalice Bug

Post by darkangel_721 »

Has anyone else had an issue with the Odious Chalice? No matter how many points of blood it has stored, nothing happens when I press "Use". Is there a way to fix this?

Are you sure? The effect isn't very substantial. Did you try filling it up to the max (10 points) before using it?

i wonder how it counts 'killed enemies'?
sometimes i am on a killing spree and after killing maybe 10 or 15 enemies i get only 5 points in that thing.
apparently enemies killed with spells (suicide, blood strike and so on) are not counted.
then i thought maybe only enemies killed by driking their blood count: wrong.

anybody know anything how it counts the bloodpoints stored?

i suspect that is filling with blood from enemys killed with melee weapons but i cannot be sure ...

about not working ... it always worked for me no matter how many blood points had stored ... :) saved my life more than once.

try installing the new patch...may be an inventory/engine bug just for your settings/system

Regarding filling the chalice, I honestly belive that it is highly infuenced by chance instead of melee. I mostly played a disciplines first, then ranged and sometimes bare fisted Tremere and after several suicides or blod boils I would find some blood in the chalice.

Im assuming there's a 30% (yes, I pulled that number out of my...) chance of getting a blood point from any kill. I know this is weird though, since the game isint very random at all... there dosent seem to be any "better or worse" hacking or lockpicking attmepts for instance. Very "what your stats dictate is what you get".

About "fixing" the chalice I really hope the patch does it for you, its a really nice commodity.

I've only had it work when it was full. 10 blood points.
