Is there any point to Yavin?

Is there any point to Yavin? I mean, I never went there - I assumed I'd go there to (SPOILER) find the star map and all, but I got to the end of the game and realised I'd never been there. You should be able to keep playing after you've beat the game!

Return repeatedly, and you will find yourself fighting a group of mercenaries who aren't pleased with the shopowner. Beat them, and he'll give you access to some very high level goods, including a pair of crystals you can't find anywhere else.

Also beat him 10 times a phazak and he will give you a hefty discount on some of his goods

Also - he buys goods at the best price I've found. Thoese racing bonds from Tatooine are worth twice on Yavin then what they are on Tatooine.
