bodhi's evil request

Post by dark__ranger »

i was wondering that when you take bodhi up on her offer to move against the shadow thieves...does that mean eliminating everyone including renal? because if it is, then good aligned players must really be missing out...renal carries a belt that prevents him from going below 1 hp

Haer'dalis wielding DEX drain sword?

I haven't played on Bodhi's side in a long time, but I know for sure there were no unkillable people in the thieve's guild :D :D :D once you side with Bodhi...No Arkanis Gath either. I cannot remember if Renal is still there or not. If he is, he goes down easy...

Aran Linvail is a little bit tougher, but he dies eventually as well :) and then you get the amulet of power and ring +2 off of his corpse.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

He gives you the amulet of power and the ring +2 if you side with him anyways...

How log does the Dex drain last? In all my uses of Haer'Dalis, Not twice did he kill something with dex drain...

Going through the game at the XP cap from the beginning is cheating even if its at a higher level...

Try starting normally on a higher level... It's fun.

It says in the Equipment section on the GameBanshee BGII site that the Dex drain from Haer'Dalis' sword lasts for: 30 seconds...

Now, this seems like it should be long enough to kill things, but then Haer'dalis at lower levels sux, so maybe it's just not hitting frequently enough...Also I can't remember if he has this sword in his main or off hand. The main hand would get more attacks...

Of course, later in the game you could have a fighter/thief use any item and whirlwind attack with it :D but we ARE talking about chapter 4 here...

Anyway, I know that Aran gives you the same stuff. I was just saying that at least you still get these important items if you side with Bodhi...I think siding with Aran prob gets you more Exp because all those vampires are worth a lot, but if you side with Bodhi you don't have to kill any vampires until later in the game (and you don't get ambushed in the streets by them), so it's easier, because most of the thieve's guild are chumps. :)

Does Limited Wish allow you to shapechange? If it does, it is awful expensive and you need your money to buy all the good stuff like Vhaloirs Helm, Girdle of Inertial Barrier, Girdle of Hill Giant Strength, Blade of Roses, making the dragon scale armors and not to mention the little trip to the asylum. When you kill Renal anyway, the belt doesn't drop because the programmers never expected him to die in the first place.

Yes LW. does allow shapechange, but it's a
one time wish. I don't recall the exact
wording but I think it's something like
"I wish to be anything I desire".

If there is a way to get Limited Wish or Shapechange scrolls (you can buy LW somewhere, what about S?). Then you can get your Wild mage to throw them with Reckless Dweomer...

With regards to the problem of killing Renal Bloodscalp... Now, I may be talking utter nonsense here - do let me know - but, like, ain't he the leader of the smaller branch of the Shadow Thieves, with the guildhouse down in the bottom right of the map?

If so, don't you get a quest to expose his treachery and eventually kill him? Assuming this is the guy I'm thinking of, he's definitely not much trouble to take out, even for a relatively weak party.

As I said, if I'm talking crap then I apologise, but I'm fairly sure... I think...

[edit: Balls. Was browsing old posts looking for the answer to a question and I forgot the topics I was reading were years old. Apologies. ]
