The quest of the debug mode!
Silly question, why don't you put in the debug mode and see if it works?
You can always delete that line if it doesn't.
Oh but sadly i have tried it is not that i have sunk to a lower level of low *frowning* oh no, its that after the first time the game froze in the Underdark I was a little confused and after the secound time I was down right miffed! so thinking that loads of people "Praised" the debug mode i thought i would give it a try ... so i went to disk one and clicked on the text edit document named "program files", and under "program options" i but Debug mode=1 (so far i followed the cheats instrutions up to scratch) but when i went to play the the game and pressed ctrl+space the thing just paused, no "text box" appeard, so being a patiant half-elf i looked for another "pragram options", well i found one in the BG-SoA folder and did the same thing as above and the same-&*$à°!!-thing happend so after countless searches i found this site (which i might add is very very good!) SOOO i posted here and this is were I am now still waiting
P.s I'm glad i'm not the only one whos playing it on a mac!

hey, has someone finally been able to help you with that?
Cause I am on a Mac as well and i had the same problem, I even posted a thread here a few months ago but no success.
I then realized that with the Mac it works by clicking more than CTR + space (either the ALT or the Apple button I can't remember which), however I had to reinstall my game and now this does not seem to work anymore.
The thing is i do rememebr that the first time I had not only entered "Debug Mode=1" but also a second line which unfortunatley i can't remember anymore and I have a feeling that is why the whole thing had worked out of a sudden. i was trying to find the post that had mentioned those two lines to enter in the .ini fie but i can not find it anymore so i was hoping that maybe you have been successful in the meantime and could help me out?
thanks, Alexa
It seems that there's a small number of us on this board; I wonder if we could have a section for mac users which points to the various resources that are available for macs?
Not likely to happen, given the way Buck divides up the board, but you're welcome to ask him about it in the GameBanshee Discussion forum.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Buck Satan, Uber-admin.
Maybe a good step forward would be to see if we can find any links ourselves and make a list of them in this thread.
Almost all the sites I've seen that have mods etc have no information at all about mac compatibility, which I take to mean that there is no mac version.
Here's one that specifically caters for macs: McBaldur's Gate Resources
Also, one with some nice (ish) install instructions for (like me) the hard of thinking: http://weidu.org/Mac.html

Thanks!
Not according to this discussion board.
Given that ToB only came out in the past year, I guess we should be grateful for what we've go

Re:
Well we can try and ask Buck, but frankly i am only a newbie and i am sure he (or she) has more important things to do. But anyway thnaks for the links i was talking to a friend via email and he said that a new site dedicated to mac gamers would be set up by summer 2005 so hopefully that could lead us to the key! But i will keep checking the web
