Lightsaber Forms

Post by Setracsed »

I have a few questions...

1. How can you learn the lightsaber forms, can you choose them like feats (or like force powers...)? Could you learn more than one? Are there special requirements to learn them?

2. Can you use a lightsaber form and a combat feat (power attack, flurry, critical hit) together?

3. Can you use the lightsaber forms with two lightsabers or a double-lightsaber or ar they restricted to a single lightsaber?

I hope, there's someone who can help me...

I'm guessing you have not completed the game yet. Okay, so this is how the lightsaber and force forms work. Throughout the game you will learn 7 of the lightsaber/force forms. There are 4 force forms and 7 lightsaber forms. If you're a Consular/Jedi Master/Sith Lord you'll learn all 4 force forms and a few of the lightsaber forms. Not quite sure about sentinels and guardians, but they do concentrate on the lightsaber forms.

How you get these forms is when you get the Jedi Masters on the different planets then they will teach a form whether it be lightsaber or force. Also as you lvl up you will continue to get more forms. I don't know which lvl ups they are, but you do get a few at the lvl ups. Hope that helps! :)

I don't have the game at the moment...

As you described it, you don't have to "buy" the lightsaber forms with feats... but what's with their usage? Can you combine them with feats (power attack, a.s.o.) and with the fighting with two lightsabers or a double-lightsaber or are they only for one lightsaber users...

Thanks in advance!

No they have nothing to do with feats and you can't persay combine them with feats. It's kind of like a bonus I guess you could call it. What happens is when you use a lightsaber form a bonus of using it might be you have really good defense against multiple blaster opponents and will be able to deflect blaster bolts easily, but then you might get a minus against lightsaber opponents using that lightsaber form. A force form might give you a bonus of your fp regenerating really fast during combat so you'll basically never run out of fp during combat. Anyways they all have a certain thing that they'll help you with. So based on who and what your fighting and what your using you'll use different forms.

the force forms are better...

i love force potency... :p 30% extra damage for 30% higher cost...

sounds right to me, especially with force storm...

especially since force storm is uncapped...now doing 160 points of damage... per opponent...

To clarify a little further, you always (once you've learned at least one) have a form active and receive it's bonus. It's sort of like the AI setting. You select one, and it's active until you select another. The first one you learn is thankfully pretty benign (I think it has no real negatives, but it's bonuses are not a whole lot).

the three good ones...

ataru
shien
force potency...(jedi master/sith lord only)

ataru...increase threat range of all lightsabres from 17-20 (with keen mods installed) to 16-20...basically, every single critical strike will do double damage...

shien...i love this form...it adds one to critical hit multiplier...so if you make a critical hit with a pair of keen lightsabres using master power attack and good upgrades and crystals, you can do over 200 points of damage in a single hit, since you get 4x the damage for all stats that are multipied in a critical hit...

force potency...wow...a 30% increase in force storm damage?

now there is one that increases rounds per attack, but i never use that one, since i am a critical strike power attack fan...

also, i think using a form with blasters you get the attack and defense bonuses, but not the critical hit multiplier or increased threat range...
