Edwin and Spellhold

Two quest-ions for true Bg fans,.........SPOILER SPOILER REQUEST again..
I know Edwin finds a scroll that turns him into girl or eventually leads him into this course of his life. Banshee walkthrough says, it takes 20 days and he will be confronted by a guy then change for five days or something like that.
I was wondering if I get the scroll from the graveyard and then drop him from my party, will the timer still be active? Inother words if I drop him then pick him up in a few weeks or so will this triger his change?? I am trying for the 'good' or 'fairy' way which does not include Edwin even in his moment of femininity.

Spell hold planned.?. I want to bring Yoshi so I can get his heart back and get 200,000exp. But I want a full party and don't want to leave anybody behind. Can I bring six npc's drop him in spellhold, pick up Imoen then still fight him at the time of his betrayel? Maybe I can bring six and leave one at the beginning of the dungeon and then come back for him/her when Yoshi freaks his last?

As for your 2nd question, Yoshimo will leave your party shortly before you get Imoen back in your party, so you don't have to drop anybody deliberately. Just bring Yoshi with you and keep him in your party, and you'll have a spot open for Imoen when you need it.
