Mandalorians

Post by mandalorian10 »

I was pumped when I got the mandalorian armour, and haven't taken it off since. If I was to soup canderous up with all the mand stuff, would he be any good? He would look cool. But is canderous good in any case? I'm pretty near the end of the game with lots of items (on the unknown world).
Thanks

I can't remember which special heavy repeater I gave Canderous, but he could kill a dark jedi with three master power blasts. If he got lucky, the young rancors on the unknown world were downed in two master power blasts. Add in over 300 HPs plus implants to improve his DEX (I gave him the implant feats and the Conditioning/Toughness feats) plus the stat gains on DEX and he was the best ranged support I could have in my group. Carth didn't hold a candle to him.

When I added in a fully repaired HK-47 (who also had over 300 HPs and the Baragwin Ion-X Weapon - Fully Upgraded), I didn't have to do anything. The two of them could decimate anything. It was rather funny, seeing a jedi just standing there while his two companions blew the living heck out of any enemy.

I specced Canderous into meele dual wielding - and he was a monster; and with him, I hacked my way through the end game with much more ease then any party I had taken through before.

Canderous is now the one person I'll always have in my party when (if) I play again. Regardless of if I'm going LS or DS....plus his dialog is somewhat more funny then many others in the game in my view.

Don't mind me asking. It's not that I disagree.. but how do you fellas deal with Canderous' problems with force powers? He is a soldier with pretty low saves on reflex and will.

I am playing on the XBOX. So.. I assume that special repeating heavy weapon is not on my list? The single most powerful ranged item I noticed is the Cassus Fett's blaster.

I also dun get it.. how is it that Canderous is better than Carth? They are both approximately the same. His strenght is default at 20. I had the notion that ranged fighters need dex.

I also dun get it why one would prefer the mandalorian items over the others? I mean... isn't Calo Nord's armour the best? I have never seen one that can beat that one. Plus it looks so cool. Unless I am interested in the cosmetics only, I would not opt to use any other armour.
In the end, everything will be alright. If it is not alright, it is not the end.

Pretty much my experience, too. Give him two powerful blades, and he's like a double buzzsaw.

canderous also has a regen implant IIRC which is quite useful. all in all, i would put canderous in any party, ls or ds, and get his gear done out to the max with dual melee. it just really seemed to me that he went through the sith hordes during the assault on the whachamacallit (the darkside space station - starforge? havent played in a while) like a hot knife through butter. on the other hand most NPCs will do the same if you setup it up right.

as for carth, i never really liked having him in the party. one, all he did was whine. and second, i never really got him to melee attack so he was basically just a pair of blasters when it was time to fight. i would suggest trying them both out though cause either way you'll find a way to make it work.

Well I'll brake from the mold and say that I prefer HK in the Starforge as opposed to Canderous as long as I've repaired him fully getting him all the bonuses. He has a self repair ability and excellant droid weapons which come in handy. Canderous is excellant but I just prefer the droid.

I found Canderous lightyears better then Carth.
And I also personally think that ranged weapons are severly underpowered in this game, and a pure meele setup much better then any ranged I've tried.

Of course - it all comes down to personal preferences and experiences, I just know that I had problems keeping up with Canderous with my main character :D

I didn't experience him having much difficulty with copeing with Dark Jedi force powers either, compared to neither my own character or other jedi group members.

I do agree there though, Carth is a complete wet blanket. Failry handy with two blasters though but I suppose Canderous would be two if you set him up that way.

I'm going have him fight a rancor by his slef, and see how he does. I'll give him his heavy repater, fully upgraded, and put him in mandalorian armour. Is their any better rife or heavy weapons to give him, than his hevay repeater, so he can do better? I don't think I want to use pistols, as I have not given him those feats, though I thing 2 pistols is usually better than anything else. Thoughts?

Ranged weapons are underpowered and it really annoys me, it really limits feasible setups if I'm going dark I always use canderous and don't mess around with those uppity jedis. HK is ok if you get the bargawin droid weapons from Yavin but ends up really weak because he needs to use ranged. SInce you can kill everything easily no matter who you have I switch my party around to get the funniest dialouge on Korriban HK and canderous are so funny.
