you forget the +4 to all saves, making it very good, albeit lacking in ac. But a determined evil assasin who is following in his father's footsteps should get much use from itOriginally posted by toeman:

You know, toeman is right. The Human Skin +5 is the superior leather armour. Not only does it give 20% magic resistance but also gives +4 to all your saving throws. This far outweighs the 20% hide in shadows of the Night's Gift. If you are running an evil thief, this suit is a MUST have. For what it is worth, here is my list...
Best Leather Armour
Human Skin +5 - 20% Magic Resistance, +4 to all saves
Best Studded Leather Armour
Shadow Dragon Scale - 50% Acid Resistance
Best Hide Armour
Aeger's Hide +3 - 15% Fire, Cold and Acid Resistance, immune to Confusion
Best Chain Mail
Bladesinger Chain +4 - a must have for dual & multi-class mages
Best Splint Mail
Armour of Faith +3 - +1 to all saves
Best Plate Mail
Gorgon Plate +4 - 15% Fire and Acid Resistance
Best Full Plate Mail
Red Dragon Scale - 50% Fire Resistance, non-magically rated

hmm do i get the feeling no one is really using splint mail???
btw i also think Red Dragon scale is the best plate armor.
Shadow Dragon Scale is the best stunned leather
and The night gift is the best leather (if u don't want to play evil or have a non evil char.)

Heh, go ahead and laugh now, but in BG1 I put that stuff on anyone that could wear it as soon as I had the money.hmm do i get the feeling no one is really using split male???
Of course, BG2 characters have a hard time fitting into the definition of "poor"... Was anyone impressed with the results of the "I wish to be rich!" wish? Gets you pocket change!

I'm playing SoA with ToB installed. With the red dragon armor, I found that I could not wear the ring of protection +2, the ring of protection +1 or the cloak of protection +1, although I can wear other AC-enhancing items such as the Ring of Gaax, the ring of earth elemental control and the Cloak of the Sewers.
This is with ToB installed - anyone think it's possible that ToB changes the red dragon armor to magical from non-magical?

I had the same experience with the Red Dragon Armor! In SoA I had Korgan wear the Red Dragon Armor and a Ring of Protection +2 and things were great. After I imported my party into ToB I didn't notice a difference at first but when I was having Korgan try on some different armor I couldn't go back to
putting on the Red Dragon Armor with the Ring of Protection +2.
So, I think that in ToB the Red Dragon Armor is now treated as magical!

Which is a shame because the red dragon armor has such a good AC. I generally prefer non-magical armor plus a cloak or ring of protection over magical armor because of the saving throw bonus, i.e. non-magical full plate plus a cloak of protection +1 has the same AC as full plate +1, but you get -1 to your saving throws. In any case, I'm sure there are even better armors available in ToB.

The Ring of Gaxx, of course, only goes with the Ring of Protection +2 because it isn't enchanted... Yeah, right!Ye, in TOB red dragon plate is now magical. Actually, that's correcting a mistake from SOA. C'mon, it's from a DRAGON for god's sakes, you don't think it's magical?

You guys forget that bladeslinger turns into Aslyferund Elven Chain +5, which is an amazing piece of armor for Rogues. Also anybody else noticed that in ToB Red Dragon Scale cannot be used with +ac items. It must be considered magical now! BUMMER !!!
When logic and proportion,

And the White Knight is talking backwards,
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"

I don't have it yet but, doesn't anyone use the Big Metal Unit?
Whats it look like when is is equiped...or more correctly, what do you look like when it is equiped?
I dunno why you guys are complaing about the red dragon scale. The Big Metal Unit Reigns above it. -10 non magical 5% Magic Resistance.
Anyone tried the White Dragon Scale?? Any good?
