Which is capable of the most damage, Dual, Single or 2 sabers?

I plan on playing through the game as a Consular (Sith Lord actually). I know Consular's have the weakest saber abilities but I want to get the most out of them. I usually select the dual-bladed saber because it looks cool but do you get any extra mod slots on it or anything? If not I will probably go classic single red saber for my character. BTW, I think I read somewhere that Consulars get extra mod slots in their saber anyway, is that true?

Thanks!

No, the mod slots for each saber are the same.

I would have to say 2 sabers beefed up (7-32 I think is the highest)
Add l Skinflute l (Lower case L's) if you think you can beat me 1v1 snipers in Halo 2.

I agree... Two Sabers have always been more acurate and more powerful then my Double Bladed one. Max your Feats to use Master Two Weapon Fighting to get the most out of it. My Double Saber's mac stat was 15-62, the highest my single saber was 11-45. But with two sabers it's worth it.

With Two Sabers aren't there pretty huge attack penalties early on and then less by the highest level? Also, will you get enough good crystals to beef up both sabers? Thanks for the input!

The best crystles I put in was the crystle that adapts to your character and if your darkside the crystle you get from some chick on Onderon if you give her a Star port ( she's in the cantina)

What about a double bladed lightsaber? I use one and if you put your personal crystal and an opila crystal combined with a little strength the weapon's damage is around 22-53.

Two lightsabers I don't think are that great. They have lower attack bonuses than double bladed and single so it is harder to hit. And they aren't as strong either.

You might want to consider a single lightsaber. If you have the dueling feat you can have a very high attack bonus and with dueling you get your defence increased while using a single hilt.

Hm... I've always used double bladed lightsaber, with master dueling and master power attack. It's doing a lot of damage and I can take out the little creatures in 1-2 strikes. With two lightsabers I miss too often, even though I have improve 2-hand weapon feat...

Funny? I always miss with my double bladed saber. I guess it all depends on your stats :shrugs:

28-61 on main hand, 61 attack rating...

30-59 off hand, 59 attack...

yeah, but i cheat...

last night, i hit a cannock for 213 damage IN A SINGLE HIT...

a terrifying combination of sneak attack, critical hit and master power attack...

i should be able to hit a dark jedi for 300 damage in a single hit...

average damage with master speed is around 50-80 points...

to tell the truth, I have always taken a liking to double bladed lightsabers. it started in the first KotOR. Other then one game, I've never played with two lightsabers. needless to say, I'm gonna tell you that double-bladed is better. however, if you have a few crystals that you want to use, then 2 lightsabers may be better, but you gotta remember, crystals that add +attack are almost as important as +damage, so in order to conserve the rare crystals that have a huge benefit to both, I use double-bladed

my average is like 70-90 damage :P

If your using a double blade and Dueling then your using the wrong feat, a double blade needs 2 weapon fighting or you incur penalties

Spoilers?

You do get an attack penalty (on the off hand) until you get "master two weapon fighting" as a feat. That goes for both a double bladed sabre and two sabres. Although there is always an attack penalty on a double bladed sabre, there is also a damage bonus. My personal feeling, though, is that two sabres are better. The reasons: 1)rather have less of an attack penalty (because I hate to miss), 2) you get ten upgrade slots vs. five upgrade slots. 3) it looks really cool to hit the "Y" button (xbox) and swing two sabres when you're just running around.

As long as you're doing side missions and checking every container everywhere you'll definitely find enough crystals to fill your sabre. Plus I always have enough booty that I have no use for that I can break down for the components that I can use to make all the lenses, cells and emitters I could ever need (looks like a run-on, huh).

TWO sabres is the best :)

flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore;
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed

Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

Ah yes the diciples of the two sabers of which I myself belong! Must say I much prefer two as well, it can be a disadvantage at the start but the benefits of more slots is worth it. Although with a guardian the dual blade saber is good for the damage dealt on the jump attacks.

two sabers is the way to go!

my preference is two sabers with the following stats: personal saber-my crystal, upari crystal, ultimate diatum energy cell, expert fencing emitter, improved vibration lens.number two has the following stats:sigil and solari crystals,u.d.e.,e.f.e.,i.v.l..That works out to :p ersonal saber:10-45,lightside +7 vs.dark, damage bonus +3 vs light, critical threat 19*20.*2,attack mod.+4,blaster bolt defence+4  .number 2:16-49,bludgeoning +1-8 vs darkside, critical threat 19*20.*2,att. mod.+3,def.1-no.2.I am going to play through as dark and see what i can come up with!

It seems to me that whether you choose two sabers or a double bladed saber depends on how you build your character.

A strength based character would be more effective using two sabers with their higher critical threat range (19-20) and critical strike (since STR bonus makes it harder to resist). A dex based character would be less effective with critical strike, so should probably go with master flurry and the double bladed saber (which I mix in the Assassin sneak attack) saving crystals and upgrades to give to your companions whom you turn jedi.

I've never seen a point to using a single lightsaber besides aesthetics. It looks better when you use force powers, but it doesn't seem a very good trade to take 3 defense for you vs. an extra 50-100 pts of damage to decimate your enemies.

When it all comes down to it, though, it's just personal preference. By the end of the game you should be raping all your enemies without much difficulty no matter what you choose.

out.

The best thing I've ever done is to be a Guardian to a Weapons Master with a Double-bladed lightsaber. If you have the lightsaber proficiency up to 6 along with two-weapon fighting up to 6 then you can kick some serious ASS! I still had my first lightsaber(which is the weakest one you get :D ) and I killed Sion in two hits! My lightsaber only had a power of 17-40.
