Well I've thought about this from time to time, and can't com up with a logical reason for it. But why would they put Yavin Space Station in the PC version and not the X-box version. This leaves poeple with the x-box version comparatively crippled when it comes to certain things like Lightsabres. There's probably a dozen or so PC only items including the ones purchased at Yavin that are ridiculously overpowered compared to the ones people with x-box like myself are forced to make due with. I don't understand why they'd do such a thing. I can understand putting special merchants in a preorder or special edition of the game, but not the same thing for a different system. My biggest gripe about this is that Canderous is worthless with his default leveling scheme as a Heavy Weapons user because the only decent Heavy Weapons in the game are in the PC version only. Just a little something I thought I'd seek an answer for.
And for the record I'm quite a ways off from being able to afford a new computer, and even so I'm contemplating getting a Mac as a replacement. I also think this game is well suited to console and couldn't really imagine playing it any other way. The same goes for Morrowind and Thief: DS.
I think they put in Yavin as a insentive to buy the pc version. Just a thought.
Pretty much, that's it. Bioware is also heavily a PC game developper. Also, a lot of PC users were annoyed that KotOR came out six months before for Xbox than it did for PC.
EDIT: Also, the Yavin special items aren't that crucial to the game. The game is plenty easy with the non-premium items. I think for my second time through, I'm going to skip Yavin completely...it makes your characters rather overpowered.
The merchant on Manaan has some good stuff, as well as premium merchant on Korriban.

If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.
I wasn't refering only to the items purchased at Yavin. I was refereing to all of the PC exclusive items. Like I said Canderous is almost useless if you use his default leveling scheme because all of the heavy weapons in the regular game suck. The others I'll admit are overpowered and I can live without 'em. It's just something that bugs me.

Canderous with whatever the double bladed weapon from Tatooine is called (Yunashi's or something but it's from the merchant in the docking bay) is awsome, fully upgraded and giving Canderous the right feats will allow him to deall out HELLISH damage, he's able to take on a group of enemies in melee solo!
As I don't have the Yavin bit I can't comment on the new weapons but it is possible to outfit your guys well without them. May well have to get xbox live when I've moved house just to see the benefit.
