Kotors
I think that Kotor II and I is something like NWN:HoU for NWN. I mean it is not better but it makes game more pleasurous and more fun.

The Light Side is the only honorable way of the Force that tries to bring peace and happines to the whole Galaxy. If you can master it then you can truely become a Jedi.

That's a tough choice. Overall I think I like kotorII better for the same reasons Jedi Master Oni points out. All the little extras make the game more interesting.
There were some things that were better about kotorI, though. The story was definitely better. The game was less buggy. You had a movie type ending(instead of a sudden jump to credits as soon as you beat Traya).
However I think kotorII is longer. And there's definitely more freedom with the LS/DS scale. With kotor it took almost the entire game to get to top or bottom of the scale. I like random items. I like not capping out at level 20. I like 3 extra slots for upgrading light sabres.

Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and
flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore;
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed
he;................................
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.
