Three questions here for the great folk at Game Banshee, if U will.
First what is the dale reckoning date for this game? How does it compare to IceWind Dale possibly Planscape at all time wise?
Second, speaking of Planscape. There is the Mekrath Portale Gem quest in the Five Flagons bar/theatore in the bridge district. I guess they are being hunted by a one Mr. Darkwood who hails from sigil. I just entered portal so I figure Darkwood is not even behind the door. Does this DarkWood guy pop up later?
Finally, About time, I am getting a new computer in March. Built from scratch. I have a very intensly modded game right now. Is there any way to transfer the game or its files in part to my new coputer without having to reinstall everthing?
Thanks 1once again from where the sun forever rains.

Answer
Not sure about the date.
The only enemies you get to find from Sigil are the jailkeepers holding Haer'Dalis and crew.
About the new computer. If you just pull the hard drive from the current one; install it on the new one, and copy the entire game directory, you can run the game. It won't be listed in the registry (or in the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel). You would be able to run the game, though, by running the "BGMain.exe" program. I forget which subdirectory it's in, though. Just run a search for *.exe files, and you'll find it. This trick is also useful for running multiple setups of the game.

Thnaks Stramoski for the reply.
So you say I just copy the directory. From where does it orginate? Like the whole Black Ilse folder or what? What about my other games, BG1, IceWind, And IceWind2? Will it be in my program files, and on my desktop? There will be a folder right?
P.S. Any word on the Dale reconing date would be great?
Time line for Icewind dale compared to BG series. I jknow Icewind dale2 is 30 years after the first saga.

You can also install the game on your new pc, download the patch, and overwrite your override folder, baldur.ini file and dialog.tlk file with the files from your old installation (the one with the mods).
Edit: the year your main character departed Candlekeep was 1373 DR, so the events in SoA likely take place between 1374 and 1376 DR.

Moltovir, Stramoski thanks for the replys. Moltovir do you know when IceWind Dale takes place in time line.
Also I'm kind of cumpoter nut that has not hahatched yet. So basically, just copythose folder to my new directory and override, right? Will all the mods files be in the BG2 main exe file after that? Like if I need to access them or someting. Also I have, I think, several dialog.Tlk files.
So whats better Moltovir's override file system or Stramoski's coping of game directory? Maybe I should grunt through another install of all the mods. Thing is all of them need a lot of cheat codes and stuff, fine tunning.

Or, you can just connect the old PC with your new PC using a transfer cable, and simply shift all of your material over.

I think those dates are wrong...
The 'current' year in Forgotten Realms is only 1372 (perhaps passing into 1373 now).
Ingame sources (e.g. diary of Sarevok in BG1, events related by Town Criers in BG2) suggest the series to happen between 1369 and 1371.

That must be an error, since the game says other dates... Also, YEARS.2DA in the game says the start year is 1369. Page 64 of my manual also says the current year is 1369.
