You're favorite playing character.
I wondered what kind of character people play around here. What's your favorite?
Do you play a pure class, a kitted class, a dual, multi, or even triple class? Or did you create your own? That's what this poll is for. Choose which type you play, but also mention the class you're playing.
For example, if you voted multiclass, then describe in your post which multiclass you're playing (cleric/ranger perhaps) and why you're playing that particular class. Should you, by any chance, play a character which required SK or a mod to create, then tell that as well (multi or dual Archer-Mage, for example).
I will post my class later.

Hrm I tend to like Pure Class characters due to the massive advances and powerful abilities later on. My favourite pure class characters are the Cleric of Helm and the Bounty Hunter.
The Bounty Hunter becomes kind of boring one he reaches level 16 though since (in my opinion) the Otiluke traps become a pain in the backside to use. Maze traps are effective for what they're worth though, but sticking around to that level is still annoying.
The Cleric is simply too fun for words in my opinion since all it takes is turn undead to blast Liches out of exsistance, not to mention being able cast a dozen spells like 9 level 1 spells, 9 level 2 and so on so your spell list never seems empty.
~
For multiclass characters I do make one exception and that is the thief/mage combination, with concentration on purely backstabbing. Nothing, nothing is more of a pain than failing a hide in shadows when someone is trying to hit you with a finger of death, the ability to cast invisibility spells saved my backside many a time.
For some reason being able to solo through the game with a thief/mage is more interesting than pure sorcerors or mages for my tastes.

Give me a multi-class character in an endless, non-linear environment (Morrowind style) or a single/dual class at other times. If experience is really limited in an RPG, as it is in BG1, I'll stick with a single class. In fact, for first play-throughs, I always play a single class, and I always roleplay it.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Multi-class.
It's just the best, IMHO. I've had fun with Cleric/Thieves, Fighter/Clerics, Fighter/Mages, Fighter/Thieves, Mage/Thieves, and Cleric/Rangers.
My favorite are the F/M (or illusionist!), and C/R.
I think a lot of classes just don't get much better after a while in the Baldur's Gate: Throne of Bhaal setting. Multiclasses are bound to improve, though.

Depends what I'm playing ... if I'm going with a party, it's generally single-class, usually with a kit. In a party, I like to have clear-cut roles for everyone, and keep things 'pure'.
If I'm going solo though, then it's generally multi-class (and again - usually with a kit ). I figure the extra class/kit compensates for being alone - you're more capable of handling things yourself.

SOLO PURE ASSASIN ALL THE WAY MATE! .. . . except that time i did the kensai/mage solo that was pretty cool . .
i'd try a mage/thief for the same "i get da invis spell" reason but i really like assasins, is their anyway to dual into a kit?

You can do it with Shadow Keeper. After dualing, just assign the kit, and set level and thief skills back to zero (so the kit is applied for the first level).

Well, I like to triple and multi class. Specially when soloing. Anway, I think that regarding Baldurs Gate series and the child of Bhaal, it will be hard to have a single class main character, so I usually roleplay him as a fighter mage, or a fmt, or a f/m/c. I also like playing with single class characters, of course, but it seems to keep distant from the game ambience. You're the Child of a God, for crying out loud, so IMO if Bhaal child is only a thief, or only a fighter I see it as crippled. Anyway, all kinds of character have their advantages, and the multi/triple are far more versatile, while the single are focused in a goal, making them a destuction machine sooner.
Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.
My favourite class by far is the Archer. Since the tactics mod came out with its Generic Archer component, I try to make the most fun multiclasses possible. So far I'm particularly charmed by the Archer/Mage and the Archer/Thief. Whereas the Archer/Mage is incredible strong and probably even outclasses the Kensai/Mage, I tend to go along with the Archer/Thief more often. The class and its playing style just suit me better and needs more strategy to play. I like sneaking, scouting and, quite simply, be more of a fighter than a caster. I tend to get bored fairly quick when playing a caster and the playing style is just not made for me.
It takes a bit of editing with SK to make the class, but the Archer/Thief is defnitly not overpowered and quite fun to play.

Get up close breach and bash, no chance to rebuff...
HLA love time trap... .... love use any item
I play with ease of use multiple stronghold so exp points are not an issue
(I take a party along just to suck up the exp.)
I like to be able to do it all myself and not rely on NPC characters
sort of my demigod independent streak

Currently playing as a fighter/mage with party of single classed npcs, as I would like to level my pc up fairly quickly. So far been very fun, he does more damage then a regular fighter for me w/o any spell help. I currently am wearing full plate until I can afford Robe of Vecna and until then, I am not usin very much combat magic. Anyways as I was saying it is very fun so far and Im not sure why I didnt try it earlier.

I do much of all the same. I love fighter/mage/thief or mage/thief for versatility and I love magic, as well as the perks of the thief.
I also love to do things on my own so the only person I really would accept is Jaheria because I work well with her and she is the easiest to get along with.
I usually have a mostly magic party with a mage/theif, and a berzerker on the side.
