This looks very interesting.... :D

Btw, if a mod does make this thread a sticky, then it's best that my name be removed from the title, since I don't think I'll be able to update it anymore(I'm afraid I've lost most if not all of my spamming abilities :( :p ), and I'm pretty sure that there are people who are more experienced in this field than I am

It's still your guide. We can just add an addendum that says: Continued by So-And-So. Image
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

*bump*

For the Newbies: Though it may take a while to slog through the spam, the guide is quite good and even the spam is fun to read! Pay special attention to the dates of the posts. :)
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.
Any excuse to keep this above the forum purge level should we get another one? :D
Well, yeah, that thought occurred to me. I only wish that I had had the foresight to save my first thread here from the last time Buck purged the forums... :(

But, I've just wasted a good part of my (work)day re-reading this thread, and it brought back many memories. I wasn't posting back then, but I was lurking quite a bit. It is also proof that I was once a Newbie myself. I was even harshly flamed after one of my first posts here! Ah, those were the days! :) Here are some tasty tid bits:
Weasel-The master spammer (with 4000+ posts). Famed for messing up the forum some time ago. He's know-it-all alter ego named Slyweasel is now no more (rumoured to be dead ). He has some connections with monkeys from out of this world and has the ability to communicate telepathically. This guide is partially dedicated to him. Also known as: Sleasel, Emperor of Spam, Slyweasel

Gruntboy-Makes a lot of perverted posts. Has a fascination for marines and anything to do with the military. Celebrated his 2000th post by running around naked at the Picadilly Circus. Other names:Le Grunt, Rear Admiral of Filth, Mrs. Sleep

T'lainya-Very helpful person. Watch out when she's angry though. If typing out her name is too troublesome, you can just type out T, T',Miss T' or Lainy. She doesn't like to get flamed by newbie smartass members.

Mr. Sleep- The almost forgotten master of spam. Although recently this title has been claimed by Weasel. He will always be remembered as the starter of spam, and for the stupidity of asking for an e-mail reply everytime someone posted in his topic. Occasionally becomes mad. Rumour has it that his anus functions like a bag of holding. Was a spammer but now a spam killer. Should you intend to be a spammer, make sure that you stay clear out of his way. Currently having some domestic problems with the Mrs. (recently found bouncing at Gruntboy's place)

Aegis-Part of the creative team that brought to you the excellent thread that is the Roleplaying in Athkathla thread. Trying very hard to be a spammer. Usually gets flamed by others for reasons known only to them

Xandax-Has given enough information about himself and has given up hope on the(now long abandoned) quiz. Frequents the Swigging Monkey

Vehemence- The person who will try to win a discussion by smooth words instead of content. An egotistic sissy. Needed help with bartending when there wasn't many people around in the pub at the time. Claims to be like thunder:lots of noise but no substance. Other claims include being a legend  , a master in TKD (surprisingly oblivious to his surroundings) and a poet
In some ways, its amazing how the more things change, the more things stay the same! I love Weasel's paltry 4000 posts, T's wrath, and the flaming of Aegis. I wonder whatever happened to Vehemence, Leedog, and how Georgi is getting along with Mrs. Sleep. :p

One thing for sure: There isn't enough indiscriminant flirting going on these days. The flirting is too directed (in those silly boudoir threads... ).... I think I see a void that I may have to fill... :D

Hehe - this is one of the threads that always bring a smile to my lips and a tear to my eye...... well, not literally (yes literally)

.... no - just joking

But anyways, it is still a reminder of times when they were more simple and less serious (in my view). It is incredible how fast and how much things changes over a couple of years on the Internet.
In my view it just goes to show that GameBanshee is truely extraodinary when being able to hold on to a thriving community on the volataile (sp?) Internet with people comming and going like that.
Ohh... good ole nostalgia :D

What is the purpose and use of this self-proclaimed 'new' thread?

Why does it need updating then? It looks pretty much like an 'I'm gonna eat an apple' kind of thread...?

I still don't get it...

The 'purpose and use' of this 'self-proclaimed "new" thread' is to educate 'newer folk' such as 'yourself' about the 'so called' '"good" old times' which were a time before 'you' were 'around'.
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

Read through it. There are some posts that are useful. Ie on posts, who is who flaming rules etc.

You will realise once you get used to SYM, that things are done here in a very particular fashion.
