evil aligned fighter-types

Post by Mr. Clark »

It seems to me that evil figher-types get screwed. The only options they have are: regular Fighter and Kits (Wizard Slayers suck, so lets not even include them), and the Barbarian. Which leaves the grand total to a whopping 4!!!

Now the good aligned fighter-types get: regular Fighter and Kits (except Wizard Slayer of course), regular Paladin and Kits, regular Ranger and Kits, and the Barbarian. Which leaves the grand total to a much larger 12!!!!

If you ask me, they should have something like a Dark Paladin or Anti-Paladin. There is such a character in the 3rd edition, why didn't they include him?!?!?!?!?!?

Don't forget the Avenger from original D&D. Not really Evil (Chaotic, they didn't have Good/Evil in D&D IIRC), but definitely the coolest "Kit". Could charm monsters to aid his cause.

I played the game all the way thru using a Lawful Evil Inquisitor and had no problems. You just have to make sure your reputation doesn't drop below 6 or you become a fallen Paladin.

How does one get an Evil Inquisitor? Aren't all Paladins (inc Kits) restricted to Lawful Good?

tlibro must have used Shadow Keeper to make his Paladin Evil. However, it does not make sense to use an Inquisitor as an evil character because in its description is says "The Inquisitor has dedicated his life to finding and eliminating practitioners of evil magic and defeating the forces of darkness..." ;)

I did not use ShadowKeeper. When I created the character, I had two choices for alignment; Lawful Good or Lawful Evil. I chose Lawful Evil. I have installed some of the fixes from Baldurdash but I don't believe this is because of that. I think you can have Lawful Evil paladins in the game.

Weeelll... I could see it happen. Takes one (evil bastard) to know one, after all. Some of the more interesting characters from fiction were not exactly Goodie Two-Shoes themselves, but still focussed on destroying evil.

Still, it's far-fetched.

When you played as a Lawful Evil paladin did you get to do the Paladin stronghold quests too?

Yes, I did get the Paladin Stronghold quests. As a matter of fact, my reputation went under 6 and I was a Fallen Paladin when I did the quests and this restored me to a full Paladin. It made the final quest difficult because I couldn't cast detect evil because I'd lost all my Paladin abilities. Otherwise, they treated me the same as any other Paladin.
