who is the greatest musician/band?
Who is the greatest musucian or band ever? we must argue about who is better because I need some new hero's!! ok so I think that for us metal heads, king diamond is a freaking god with his vocal range.
when it comes to musicians i think that ace frehley is a finger pickin genious!! and for classical stuff Ingwie Malmsteen's crazy arpegio's dominate.

The guys that do music for the Teletubbies.
Honestly? Metallica and Aerosmith. But they are too modern. But then again i don't know many bands from before the 80s.

Zepplin. Sabbath.Priest. Maiden. Mercyful Fate. Megadeth. Metallica. Metal Church. The list is endless.
Depends on the genre. I have too many bands to mention here. But I love blues, metal, funk, hell, anything you can name.
But currently I listen to mostly Cry of Love, Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, and Jackyl, and the Cult. Just the current mood.
The Duke Ellington Band. Though there's much to be said for Jimmie Lunceford.
Aaaah...the Duke...that's quality stuff.
If you were to ask me the greatest "band", not soloist, still together today, I'd probably make an arguement for Gordin Goodwin's, but if you were to include the real swingers of old...

I sincerely wish we could re-consider this plan from a perspective that involved pants.

Well, if we're talking modern, I suppose there's always Capercaillie. Or for that matter, Ghymes, a great Hungarian world-folk-rock-other band.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Capercailie, great stuff my friend, great stuff....

*ahem* Their name is Telestubbies. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Man that is a great joke, I first learned about that when I was 7 I think. But as to the band I think is the greatest, I seriously don't know, my favourites are always changing. I am inclined to that New Zealand band right now, the name is just beyond my grasp!

He completely invented his own style from flamenco, eastern european folk, gypsy jazz and r&b, hundreds copied, and it is unoubtedly the shreddingest, meanest, rousingest guitar music ever.
Listen to his versions of Hava Nagila and Miserlou if you need proof that he guitars better than anyone.

GameBanshee sells Xandax to make ends meet
Then, as if that was not enough, they decide to get rid of me via sweepstakes as well

Only on GB....
What an incredibly dumb question this is! Why don't we start making "list threads" like the best 13 bands EVER! or Who is the greatest synchronised dancer in the history of boybands? Seriously, this is beneath us! The Strauss Orchestra of 20-30 guys toured with father to son-to-son-to nephew for over 50 years, and created music which still a 150 years later stands as some of the best stuff ever made, and you twits are going on about Metallica? PHHHUUUUULLLLEEEEAAAASSSEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey I thought this is thread was what everyone thought their favourite band was. IMO, if you have nothing worth saying than frankly don't say anything at all. Just don't insult other people's choices and tastes, I like threads and discussions like these as they often help to expand peoples musical tastes.
My pick apart from the obvious, Jimi Hendrix Experience is the Beach Boys who are possibly the most underrated band of all time. If it weren't for these guys, Beatles would of never released Sgt Pepper. I'm also a big fan of Radiohead but my tastes change almost on a daily basis.
