Dunmeri Translations??

Post by Alien_Newborn »

Being the guy with way too much spare time that I am, I delved into the Dunmer's language itself. I was quite surprised by how many people had resources in the language, but there are a few things that I've still got on my mind. After searching seven or eight sites, I still haven't been able to find out what 'Ald', 'Ur', "Amur" and "Mar" mean (any help would be nice). I have, however found out alot on most of the other words, which are listed below. I thought everyone should know the english name for their favorite city (or, more practically, how to name a new town in a mod). Dunmeri is phrased like normal english, so, yes Balmora does translate exactly into Stone Forest, etc.

Bal=Stone
Molag=Fire
Isra=Row
Gah=Great
Sadrith=Mushroom
Mora=Forest
Morag=Harvester
Camonna=Bandit
Tong=Guild
Kogo=Unbreakable
Ruhn=Home
Tel=Tower; Tower of....
N'wah=Fool
S'wit=Outlander

Wondering if Oxford makes a English-to-Dunmeri dictionary,

jumping from klingon to about a dozen of elvish language types, this is quite a nice setup for a change.
way to go :)
Finding the world in the smallnes of the grain of sand
And holding infinities in the palm of your hand
And Heaven's realms in the seedling of this tiny flower
And eternities in the space of a single hour.

I enjoy researching the Dwemer and other things. However I do not know much of the Dwemers language, so what you have given me is much appreciated. If you are a fellow fan of Tamrielic lore than I suggest going here http://til.gamingsource.co.uk/ ;)
