Yea, it's good. And from the looks of things it never made it to PC, from what I saw at least. That's fine with me because it looks good on x-box and I don't think I'd be too comfortable playing fable with keystrokes and a mouse. It's definitely better suited for the console. Some have said they've played through in 8 hours or less IIRC, but I don't see that being all that doable. It's a rather fun game with a decent storyline and definite replayability.

fable's a good game but it won't satisfy as an rpg. think of it as an adventure game with leveling up and it'll seem better

Playing through the game in eight hours is easy, I did it my first time through without even trying, and that was after repeatedly killing hobbes in the caves, and doing numerous other things along the way (silver keys, demon doors, etc.). Fable is extremely short for an RPG, especially when considering that Molyneux promised at least forty hours of gameplay and a higher level of customizability than any other RPG to date.

All to say, if you're in the market for a great RPG that stands tall over all of the rest, get KotOR or Sith Lords, or Morrowind and those if that's your thing. Fable is short in the story department, but has enough supplementary material to do to keep anyone busy for easily 40 hours, and I for one still haven't gotten 100% completion. Those assassin missions are tricky.

Why the flip not, guy?
Anyways.... the game is pretty good, not amazing, but itt'l keep most people occupied for a good amount of hours.

This in my opinion is one of the best Action/RPGs you can get for a console right now. While it may not be as long as games like Morrowind, the combat system is much more fun to play.

The whole point of this game is to play through several times using your imagination to develop your character's personality in different ways. And there are alot of different choices that you can make that will affect things permanently and differently in the game. Plus it would take you much more than 10 hours to play through if you were to choose to do all of the optional side quests, games, boasts, fight club, ect. The main quests are just what moves the main story line along.

Worth your 50 bucks, and I think the analog control system would make the console version superior to any PC version that might result from this possibly becoming a franchise. It's really important to the gameplay. Also I've found that you can download gamesaves from the internet that unlock cheats/extra content that is not included in the final version.

See this thread, and this one for a range of views from ecstatic to disgusted. :D My own views match Polyphemus: far, far too short to be an RPG, and without most of the features that were hyped before the release.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
