Booty Island

Post by fable »

The modder JOG just released Booty Island a short while ago, and I've just started playing it. It's fun, with different sorts of quests than you'd expect, and a request that you remain undercover--so it isn't hack 'n slash, at least, not most of it. You're on a pirate island investigating a possible leak in an Imperial office that's giving the pirates an inside line on which ships to attack, and when. All of JOG's mods are good: the city/quest mod Haldenshore is fun (start up your own thieves guild branch, run quests and make cash at it, too), and so is Havish. All three should be available on Morrowind Summit, and possibly TESmods.

Er, okay, but this thread was about Booty Island. ;) Just thought folks would like a head's up on a new mod with plenty of quests, lots of attractive newer items, and plenty of personality. :) Have you checked it out?

Wrath, I can't speak to the reasons for other mods to require BM/TB, but Booty Island does because it sets you quests in the add-on areas. Frankly, I like this, because it provides variety. I can understand why you wouldn't, but that doesn't make the mod necessarily "crap" because it does so.

In any case, I really like the sheer number of quests their originality and complexity. (If they start simple, it's usually deceptive. And there's sometimes an element of humor involved.) I did find one bug which provides you early on with a scim that has a paralysis enchantment; it's supposed to be a quest reward, but the smith then proceeds to sell several of 'em for 250 septims a piece! :D That aside, I like what I've seen, thus far.
