The True KOTOR II Ending (Spoilers)

Post by LostJedi »

Greetings.

Is there anyone else but me who just finished KOTOR II and got an eerie feeling afterwards? Such as if you had journeyed through one of the best RPGs ever, but that at some point you and the storyline parted company and you were only able to get glimpses at it from afar?

If so, you may have a look onto the following website:

http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php ... opic=29764

(You don't have to try to decipher Aurora's post, just go to page two and read HighPriest's post.)

Afterwards, you may sit in your chair, stunned, staring.

And then, you have three possible courses of action, as usual:

Dark Side: Run around your place, screaming, swearing, throwing objects at the wall;

Neutral: Stay calm, remain sitting, cry for what might have been;

Light Side [Intelligence or Awareness required]: Create the cutscenes to the script in your mind, be moved by them, and convince yourself that you saw them while you were playing the game.

And may the Force be with you, and let it guide your mind.

Wow....I wish they could have you able to download that on xbox live or in a patch for PC. I wonder who the idiot was who cut that from the game?

hmmm

i like them but it definately needs an evil visas attacking handmaiden, then hand maiden kicking the crap out of her and dragging her to the male player who then throws her into the core for being so freaking devoted even when he told her she couldn't look at him.

Alright, using the link took me to a table of contents type page. It had about ten different forums for kotorII and about ten different forums for about ten different games/subjects.

Under what forum is the post to which you are referring and what is the thread title? I didn't see anyone named aurora OR high priest.

Thankyou. I shall incorporate that into my memory of the ending and be much more satisfied.

Even a portion of that would be better than the abrupt ending we ACTUALLY get. The logic behind cutting this fine conclusion escapes me.

I know, I was expecting to carry on with the game, and then it hit the credits and I was like... wtf? We should get them to make the ending and put it in a damn patch.

Although I have yet to finish the game and don't understand the context its amazing no matter. If this is because Lucas Arts wanted its license to print money ASAP (which I suspect is the case) I am ready to get sniper rifle and pick off everyone of the people responsible for that decision. My god KOTOR 3 had better have a brilliant story AND ending or I may make good on my threat above.

the maddest I have ever been at a video game was earlier this week when I finally finished KOTOR 2. Lucasarts was in such a hurry to push the game out befor the Christmas rush that they cut the ending. That was a bad decision and I feel cheated as a fan of the game. My question for you all is what can we do about it? Is there a petition somwhere I can sign? Or some way we can let Lucasarts and Obsidion know we feel? I just feel helpless as an individual and would love a way to speak out.

A petition to restore the cut endings has been started. Go here if you wish to sign it:

Thanks to those that do.

RE IN STATE!!!!!
RE IN STATE!!!!!

maybe we should also find a way to let them know that it's better release a game later with fewer (a lot fewer) bugs than sooner with so many. It's a little sad that there are two learning curves in the game. One for actual play. And another to know how not to prematurely end your game. Too many games like that and they'll start to get a reputation for shoddy work.

RE IN STATE!!!!
NO MORE BUGS!!!!

I'll be signing your petition at any rate.

Good God that ticks me off. I just finished it up and I felt cheated. The complex plot of the game had me primed for some awesome ending, but it never came. The credits came up and I couldn't believe it. I sat in shock for a little. I'm definitely signing that petition. They'd better not do that EVER again.

hmm

i dont think its so much that they wanted to make money by putting it out sooner. i think that they just wanted to leave us at a cliff hanger, but left us feeling unfulfilled instead. if you beat halo 2 you'll understand they did a very good job, you beat a hard enemy but realize that you have to go across the galxy to still stop "it" from happening. thats how this should have ended not just some decent fights, a grudge match against someone who turns on you then.... it doesn't explain fully. plus whos flying the ebon hawk? atton? well whats he been doing? we have comlinks for a reason. so that when we crash on some strange planet we can keep in contact.

edit:That was a pretty random ramble. hope you can decipher it.

Help Me Obi-Wan!!!
Wow....I wish they could have you able to download that on xbox live or in a patch for PC. I wonder who the idiot was who cut that from the game?
OK; I'm new here and slow on the uptake, so please bear with me.
This post at Obsidian was made by someone "in the know" regarding the game?

If so it would explain much, But NOT necessarily the ending( as limpd!<k as it was ). What I mean is; things felt like they were kinda' starting to fall apart about the time the Handmaiden walked back into her old stomping grounds.
I was playing as a Light Side character( so maybe things are a bit diffrent Dark ), and it just seemed like the whole story sort of got smacked upside the head at that point, and then went REALLY all over the place up until the final confrontation with Trayus.
It was like; I'm running all over Gods green earth to find this EVIL lookin', cool as hell Sith Lord to fight, I finally find him and then NO dialogue or deeper understanding of this character whatsoever! It's just "akkk-akkk-akkk-blah-balh-blah" = KILL EM' DEAD, and ON TO THE NEXT ONE!
THAT was really stupid, I thought. But hey; what the hell do I know right?
I mean COME ON; Sion should have died at that first battle, THEN on to the COOL MYSTERY SITH LORD, MAN! The one I was chasing!!! The one I actually GAVE A SH1T ABOUT!!! ;)

An ending with Darth Trayus as the dominant Sith is not what I would have chosen by a long shot, but if Darth Nihilus could have been there at the end as her "protector" or better yet, as her ultimate BETRAYER, then I could have lived with a variant of the "short-shrift" ending we got.

As for a KOTOR III?
I want to take the Exile on a hunt beyond the Outer Rim for Revan, let a choice be presented to ONE of the two( based on who has grown the strongest in thier time together, during thier mutual goal of hunting the "True Sith" mentioned by Trayus ), and let the chips fall one of FOUR WAYS.

Program THAT, mutha!@#$%

Your Friend,
The Lightbringerrr.

Disappointed

For whatever good it will do, I signed that petition. I just finished playing through as a Light Side character and felt... oh, I dunno, empty and hollow, as though there was an echo of the story, lurking in space, haunting me...

I loved KOTOR and I know sequels rarely live up to the first, but this just seemed like someone hired a script-writer for the first half, then fired them and put together some sort of action, hack-and-slash adventure without any story at all... or at least one written by a 12 year old--the story being in their mind but never quite making it onto paper. You KNOW there was supposed to be a ton more stuff going on there at the end... like what the heck happened between Bao-Dur's remote and GOTO? What happened to Mira after she beat the wookie? Nevermind the rest of the crew. Maybe that stuff would be clear if I had played differently, but no matter how I play, this should be scripted so that you get SOME answers, and I didn't get any. VERY frustrating. Someone totally dropped the ball, or maybe this was pressure from the publisher (don't disappointment LucasArts) to prematurely release the game to get profits.

For shame.

As the "Cut Endings" thread you reach by the above links has now grown to thirty pages without showing signs of slowing down, those who would like to access the recovered scripts and audiofiles may do so at

http://tubertarian.com/kotor2missingcontent.php

The original thread is still worth following, however.

Just tried to follow the link but it was dead
I loved KOTOR, and loved MOST of KOTOR 2, but most other people i found the ending to be unfulfilling, unsatisfying and very uncomplete, with lots of loose ends. I know that the original ending(s) and cutscenes that have been, well, cut out, are floating around there somewhere on the internet, but every link that someone mentions is dead
can someone just TELL me what happens?

What I find impressive and stupid about the kotor series, Obisaden screwed the entire series.

THe proper way to create the series, should have been done like this.

Kotor 1 ends afther defeating Malax
.....................................................
Kotor 2 picks up. You play as Reaven.
............................................................
K2 description: Your on Onderon and if your male your living with Bastila. Your in bed looking out the window looking at the night sky. Revan falls asleep and starts having nightmares of the true sith. In his night mare he is Darth Revan. Dath Revan is slaying demon afhter demon, Revan realizes demons just keep coming. Revan turns off his light sabbar and starts running into a cloud of darkness. Darth Revan keeps runnig until he relaizes he lost the demons. Darth Revan catches his breath and starts to analyze the area around him. Darth Revan walks around in a circle. In the Darkness, a yellow light sabber turns on. A dark jedi walks out of the darkness. Darth Revan turns on his red light saber ready for battle. The dark jedi looking at Dath Revan raises the yellow saber beam up to the facial area. The dark jedi was Bastila as a Sith Lord. Bastila laughs wickedly and runs to attack Darth Revan. Darth Revan does a back flip avoiding Bastila. Darth Revan takes off his mask and wields his saber with both hands. "Bastila?" Ask Revan. Bastila Shan leaps at Darth Revan trying to stike him down. Revan wakes up sweeting really hard. Bastila's places her left hand on Revan's shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Bastila asks rather worried. Revan stairs at the wall not looking at Bastila. "I think-Darth Revan- wants to come back". Bastila sits up in bed looking at Revan like he was crazy. "Back, what do you mean?" Bastila ask. Revan looks at his hands, breathing rather hard. " Im remebering things that I had done as Darth Revan".

Bastila places her hands on Revans chest. " I did not fall in love with Darth, I feel in love with you". " Your here with me, now come back to bed." Bastila placed her hand on Revans shoulder. Bastila slowly pulled Revan back into bed. She roled over next to Revan, she placesd her left arm over Revans stomach. Revan looked at Bastila, Bastila was smiling looking at Revan. Revan feel asleep with Bastila's arm still over him.

Basically Kotor 2 should of been a continuation of Kotor 1. During that 1 year time frame.
