Put it this way: I have two separate confirmations from within Bioware and Black Isle Studios that the code's ready for review. Typically, that means it's gold, though I can remember one nasty occasion where a rep told me a product was gold, and it was still being changed after I received it.
This is not from Interplay's PR department, however.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Heh, @Drezden, you just let your game lust lead your intuition. But I've seen things like this drag out for months, and everytime there's a rumor, somebody shouts "IT'S GOLD!" and that only makes it worse when the thing doesn't pan out.
I would give it a week, maybe much less. I know Interplay is prepared for this.

O.K.
I am resuming posting since things are getting a little confusing.
The are quotes from BioWare/BIS forum.
Interplay have yet to make a official anocement but their site states that it have Gone Gold.
The press kit of Throne of Bhaal is still being done by Interplay PR.
That is why no official comment can be made at this point by anyone from BioWare or Interplay.
But that does not mean that Throne of Bhaal have not gone gold, since Interplay site say that it have.
I do not belive that a mistake like can be made, it would bring negative publicity to Interplay (and a buch of really anoyed player to try to burn down Interplay offices ).
So trust Fable on this one, he knows.
Thank you for reading this.

Jeez Louise, does everyone in this forum think they're Kojak? Announcements have to go through our Public Relations office. Whether the discs are being duplicated at this moment or not can't be announced without a release from PR. Man. We had this same restriction on Icewind Dale. Even though the discs went flying off on a Saturday (I think), there wasn't a PR statement about its status until Monday. When did we discuss its status? After the press release was sent out. Thank you.

Throne Of Bhaal Goes Gold
Color time again. Publisher Black Isle Studios has just sent us confirmation that Baldur’s Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, BioWare’s eagerly-awaited conclusion to the Bhaalspawn story arc that has enthralled millions of fans has gone gold. This is the official word:
ATTENTION BALDUR'S GATE FANS!!
BALDUR'S GATE II: THRONE OF BHAAL HAS GONE GOLD!
This vast new expansion product completes the epic saga of Baldur's Gate
Black Isle Studios, the role-playing game division of Interplay Entertainment Corp., and BioWare Corp. announced today that Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, has gone gold. This add-on product expands and enriches the gameplay experience by adding several new locations, high-level spells and powerful new characters to the Baldur's Gate II game. Set in the Forgotten Realms campaign world of the Dungeons & Dragons game, Throne of Bhaal is the ultimate conclusion of the Baldur's Gate legend as gamers fulfill their destiny as a child of Bhaal.
Baldur's Gate II players will be pleased to hear that the Dungeon of Watchers Keep (the add-in section contained within the Throne of Bhaal expansion pack) is fully playable either while questing through their Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn adventure or while completing the Child of Bhaal Saga (as part of the add-on section of the Throne of Bhaal expansion).
Our sincere congratulations to the entire team at BioWare and Black Isle. As you can see, there’s no shipping date stated, but Interplay is usually pretty quick, so it’s probably reasonable to expect the game to ship within about a week. And a tip of the lance to reader Melchizedek who was first to let us know the news.

Now we sit back and play the waiting game... Wait a second, we've been playing the waiting game for months already! The waiting game sucks! I want to play ToB instead! NOW NOW NOW!!! (I'm still hoping my original estimate of the 18 is accurate)
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.
