The Ravanger (Sith Star Destroyer Class)
This must have been mentioned and I cannot see where, so here goes.
If KotoR 1+2 are set years before the events of the movies and in Episode 2 you saw the initial design of the Star Destroyer how does Darth Nimthius in KotoR 2 have a perfect copy of a class of war ship that will not appear in known space of the Star Wars Galaxy until late Episode 3 and at the start of Episode 4!
Its a big question mark and one thing that... since the designer are trying to keep with the timeline. I can understand that some of the clothing would be different and I agree that the council of the time would not have held any of the members of the 12 man seated in Episode 1.
But having a proper Star Destroyer Class Vessel is a big jump... if this was intentional then the technology of hundreds of years was far more superior to the ones used by the clones?? that cannot be since the technology improved vastly.
Other than this find the game as been running things unique and the cloesest thing to resemble anything of the films which are later dated are the Jedi and Sith Robes and Sabres.

Well all i can say is star wars 1-3 are garbage. Even though #3 hasn't come out yet, it's still garbage. Just the computer animation and that stupid thing with the "me so stupid" ruined the movies. Also the fact of the kid who can't act also ruined the movies. Well the 4-6 movies i really liked because all of the vehicles seemed like they could be man made. They looked like it could actually be made, but #1 ruined it in the first seen where their ship was all shiny and stupid.
Also "the ravager" might have just been an older/badder version of the new ships. Stupid 1-3 movies....

@Rice~Boi:
Instead of ranting on about the movies, try and answer the question the original poster has posted if you wish to post in this thread.
@Darth Zenemij:
The same goes for you as well. Why post if you have no interest in trying to discuss the original post. Also - avoid using explicit sexual references.
Stay on topic.

When I first saw that clip of the Ravager, I asked myself that question too. KOTOR2 takes place 5 years after KOTOR1, and both are approximately 4,000 years before Episode 4: A New Hope. So it is highly unlikely anything will look like the familiar triangular shape of the Republic Assault Ships/Imperial Star Destroyers.
The only explanation for this is that the designers of KOTOR2 were wanting to have a Sith starship that looked menacing but they just plainly ran out of ideas.

It was kind of mentioned earlier in a very badly worded way by someone else so I shall try to evolve it. Maybe Palpatine looked back through history to find a menacing Sith vessel, used the general design as the Ravager for his own ships and taa daa.......that may be the answer.

That's a good point. Thing is during Palpatine's era, those Republic Assault Ships/Imperial Star Destroyers were manufactured by KDY (Kuat Drive Yards), and it revolved around the look of the Jedi Starfighter. Triangular shapes.
Either way, anything goes and only Lucas himself can decide.

KDY had the Empire order but there is no mention of the KDY contract to the Kamino cloner..since the film you see the troops boarding some kind of transport.
But surely if the KotoR 2 vessel was indeed looked back on for the design would they not have made the earlier star destroyer class the same as the later models and have some more illustrious ships made for the Empire.
unless I wrote to the makers of KotoR 2 I dont think we will ever know the reason, but for now the guy that said they ran out of Ideas is getting my vote.

The History Of the Star Destroyer
The Ravager in theory is a star destroyer,but what if in fact the Star Destroyer was a more advanced ship with better weaponyry,armor,a better hyperdrive ect.and the layout/look of the Star Destroyer came from the ships like the Ravager.

If it has ears it can be deafened,if it has a mouth it can scream,if it has eyes it can be blinded,if it has legs it can be crippled -Enscription on an ancient sith weapon

It looks similar (very similar) but it isn't an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. Lots of technical differences, some visual differences, etc. It is possible that Palpatine influenced the design based on the ancient Sith ship from the game. It could be a coincidence. It could be the game designers wanting something to be similar because they like the Imp Star Destroyers. Lots of possibilities.
Just go, "That's similar, neat." and move on.
