Atris/Darth Traya..

Post by PersuAzN »

Uhh... I looked at the strategy guide and it shows your main character fighting a "Darth Traya" at the Jedi Academy on Telo's... aka Atris's dark side. But.. all thru the 4 times I played, I have always fought against just Atris, no Darth Traya!! I played as both dark and light... wut the hell?!

How do I fight "Darth Traya" instead of Atris...

spoilers

I think that must be a misprint. I thought Darth Trayas was Kreia in the final battle.

flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore;
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed

Well you said you've played 4 times. Darth Trayas is the final battle is she not? And it's not Atris, 'cause you already kicked her butt on Telos right? Maybe instead of a misprint it's just plain wrong. I never got the impression that Trayas was Atris.

listen to what Kreia says to Atris! she says to Atris to confess her dark teachings and stop living a blatent lie and wake up basically... and then she goes on bout summat or other and eventually says the galaxy needs the exile like the galxy needs Darth Traya...

there is not direction given as she says to Atris that last bit, Atris is stunned and then Kreia goes for a walk..and then end on Malachor V... awaiting you to give her the ass kicking she deserved through the game.

but I will thank her for the kick ass Force Englightment... that alone saved me the trouble of wearin a sheild all the way thru the Revenger part and even beatin Nimphius!...

Also be aware the strategy guides are printed long before the game is finished...

In the original storyline that Obisidian had planned was that the final boss was going to be Atris.

I got the impression that Kreia betrayed Sion by leaving him, and then again by taking on the exile as her "apprentice". She is the Lord of Betrayal after all :p

**SPOILER**
Kreia is surly Darth Traya because if you have enough influence with her she will show you a video callec "kreia's fall" and it shows sion and nilhius beating the crap out of her,and she talks about it as the movie is playing and talks about how she was stripped of the force and beaten.

Becoming Kreia again and no longer Darth Traya.... think I understand it now. Atris becomes Darth Traya in the sense that she has betrayed the Jedi Order by learning from the Sith holocron's and isolating herself.

Kreia is still called Kreia in the final battle isn't she?

Nope, she's called Darth Traya there. Makes sense, since her eyes are black and her robe is too, and her face is much more pale.

I personally think atris is bastilla from the first kotor, because she looks identical to her and is a female jedi and thier voices are alike.

Bastila shows up for male characters after you beat Atris so I guess thats not the case..

<sighs>

First off, it's 'The Ravager', not the revenger or something like that. Second, it's Darth Nihilus, not Nihiulus, Nihlius or whatever.

Third, Atris was corrupted by the Sith Holocrons, among other things, she was alike Kreia because the latter had already walked the path Atris had gone upon. Atris did not know she fell, at least, she pushed it away. Kreia simply lifted her illusions of the matter...

Fourth, Bastilla is Bastilla, look, Atris doesn't even look like her, doesn't the white hair and BLUE eyes give you a hint that it's impossible that Atris is Bastila. (Her voice is totally different as well)Also, Bastila being in such a position really depends on the outcome of the first game, making it impossible for her to be such a key player with a set outcome.. And of course, you actually see Bastilla Shan with Carth if Revan was good in you dialogue choices with Atton, if Revan was evil, you can see her in T3's memory core and by means of a holocron on Korriban...

Don''t you people follow the dialogue or something, to actually get the story? That's what the entire RPG genre is about... It saddens me that there are more and more wannabes out there who just skip the dialogue and slash away, without ever getting to know whats it all about.. The worst with this game is, that a lot of people are very dissapointed at the end because they don't really understand it all, well, that's your own damn fault...

Believe you me, the end was quite good, not something that was expected.... Many of you intellectually challenged out there prolly though there would be a big finish, and were actually dissappointed that there wasn't any... That's the clue people... That's the clue...

My thoughts exactly. If you take the time to talk to people its a very interesting game, with a strange ending (still left a little wanting though, was somewhat... abrupt), but a thoughtful one at that, and it will be interesting to see what is made of KotOR III, which has been left a good base to work from.

xanatan you spend way to much time playing this game so what if someone spells a stupid ship or characters name wrong you obviously understood what he ment andthat coment about lower inteligence is grossly uncalled for just because some people found that a rushed ending an uncompleted store and a dead planet didn't meet their expectations they got from the first game.

Hehe, that was fun :D

Although I do agree about the abrupt ending, and that I'd rather have a complete and good game instead of a game that was finished prematurely because of a dead line, saying that it sucked does give me a tendency to call people wannabes.

RPGs are, as the name says, roleplaying games. To play a role, a story is needed, and that's what it's all about. If you rush through things, and dare to say it sucked, you don't understand it, and further more, it's creator's fault, yes, that makes me think some people out here are mentally challenged. I suggest for them to go for some adventure game instead to get rid of those annoying dialogues. I recommend Prince of Persia Warrior Within, or to keep in the theme, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Or better yet, wait with great anticipation, just like myself, for the Episode 3 game wich is suppose to hit the shelves mid-may...

As for the suprising finish everybody (lame) had hoped for, well, it was suprising was it not?

Now, about the names, they are most definetely important, naturally I understand one can make a typo, not uncommen for myself, but to name Darth Nihilus, Darth Nimphius, well, that's just to much for me. It kinda destroys his 'coolness' so to speak, not to mention you obviously wasn't very in it all to actually remember his name.

Master Ewok, well, an RPG should be done carefully, carefully and good, because if one feels the need to rush it because of those annoying dialogues and that damned story line, just get yourself an adventure game... (For recommendations and further info, look above).

Darth Xanatos, what's that about changing over the years? What do you mean by that? You're 65 years old and you're starting to lose it? You prolly don't mean that, though that is what I interpret from those words for I have never said anything about mental decay....

And let's forget about the Bastilla part, shall we?

PS: I don't wish to offend anyone, I am simply stating my feelings on the matter, and I again emphasize the adventure games part. Also, I'm having fun in this particular discussion :)
