I personally am a sucker for Good... so I would prefer the LS even if credits is a real issue early in the game.

But there are many other reasons why I consider the light path to be the better path in this game.

For one, the best crystals on the XBOX remains to be Solari. You have to be light to use this one. The 2nd best robe (I forgot the darn name, starts with a Q) is restricted to light too. It has +5 to wisdom.
Another, cure is essential. Unless you find a way to outdo the penalty for that. Or you wanna stim yourself with madpacs all the time. To me, the stun droid is also another plus point. One of the toughest fights I consider are droids. Destroy droid just makes everything clean as a whistle... and easy too.

There are issues with mages, some consider DS to be the only mages that are valid in the game. However, our dear Jack Dell corrected me so gently with his LS consular who can even beat Malak. He claims that LS mages are better than DS.

Lastly, having Jolee and Juhani around is better. A team of droids, Canderous or Bastila just dun make things that good anymore. Having said that, I prefer to enter the last stages alone... so no deal there for me.

Another thing - I use Darth Bandon's special double lightsaber. In order for it to provide the +10 to attack ratings... with killer damage, you want to have Solari..... that goes only for LS.
In the end, everything will be alright. If it is not alright, it is not the end.

It all depends on your style of play, if you prefer to get loads of credits and taking the 'easy' option in conversations (I don't mean that in a bad way, as in it's always easier to be bad than do good) I myself prefer a LS char with Jolee & Juhani just as I enjoy being the good guy.

I find the dark side implemtation in this game rather limited.
It seems to be darkside you have to be a greedy sadist, so I normally played LightSide back when I played.

It is easy being LightSide when you can rob and steal and not get any DS points :D

What is best? - Well, that really depends. I mean the DS have some nice killing force powers, whereas the LS is more defensive, and have to rely on the neutral "killing" powers such like force wave and similar. But LS gets better Mastery Bonus in my opinnion.

Well unfortunately, due to the stupid xbox glitch my masteries don't give me any bonuses, although it doesn't stop me getting my char to the LS/DS extreme, really just as I'm pedantic about these things lol, plus I like the blue shineyness and smoke and flame effects that you can get from them.

LS is just easier to play. (In my opinion, if you find DS easy to come by, please stay in your house away from society :) ) Picking fights with the punks on Korriban are fine, but stranding children on planets, robbing the poor, torturing captives when there are better options given to me. Playing DS just made me feel dirty lol. It is true that all the best items are for LS players. DS items are just crap, like the headset and bracers you get from the tombs on Korriban. LS Cure and Stasis force powers are great, although there was a little pleasure in using Force Kill on fools who dared stand against my DS character. Although everyone gets to use Force Wave, that is fun too.

LS/DS mastery? I have read about it..

But I have never seen it's effects on my characters before. I have several variations of full LS. Never had any special +mods or such.
In the end, everything will be alright. If it is not alright, it is not the end.

These are the Master Mods that are supposed to be there. I think I heard that Xbox doesn't work right.

Light Side
Guardian: +3 Strength
Sentinel: +3 Constitution
Consular: +3 Charisma

Dark Side
Guardian: +1d8 damage
Sentinel: Immunity: Poison
Consular: +50 Force points

SPOILERS

I'd say LS vs. DS is definitely dependent on how you like to play. I like to go LS because I don't like having to be an A-hole every time I talk to someone. The only thing I don't like about LS is that in dialogue you can't even try to joke around with people without earning DS points. What? Can't good jedi have a sense of humor? But it's definitely easier to earn money going DS and you don't have sit through as much dialogue because you can alway just tell someone to bugger off OR the ever present "enough of this, I think I'll just kill you" option.

I got a friend of mine playing the game, though, and he decided to go DS. But I think he had misgivings about it, because when he joined up with Bastila and ended up having to kill Jolee (he killed Juhani way back on Dantooine) he was like "AWWW man, I liked that guy, I can't believe I had to kill him." And then when he had to fight Big Z and Mission he had the same kind of reaction. Then for the rest of the game he was so mad at Bastila that he let her run around at like 1 health holding her side like she just got shot in the liver and laughing maniacally every time she dropped dead and saying "That's what it's like to be MY apprentice, B____ch, hope you like it." It was quite amusing.
Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and
flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore;
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed
he;................................
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

Light side is the best!

I prefer as Light side my signature says . Maybe DS powers are great an powerful but they are nothing compare with LS. By being a LIght Jedi you get perfect defence , you can destroy droids easily , you can stun your oponents of course DS have Insanity but I dont like it Its just too dark.. You can say that there are no atacking forces vs humans but after empowering yourself you'll get attack bonus from Valor and finally you dont have to harm or even kill many innocete people or beings as you truely are a JEDI. Not kind of short-timed Dark Lord I know it may temp may of us but somewhere in the Galaxy there is someone how might decive you and then you can go back..... And remember do not realese you anger and fear their can make you stong but there are no emotions exepet TRUE love but dont mistake it with passion.
The Light Side is the only honorable way of the Force that tries to bring peace and happines to the whole Galaxy. If you can master it then you can truely become a Jedi.

Everyone seem to be going lightside, and I'm no exception. I just feel bag when ever I do anything evil, ligh thratining the guy fot HK-47. Though My level 8soldier/12guardian (LS) hasn't fought Malak yet, I feel sure I will have an easy time of it. My only problem now is wheter to were armor or not, it is either hevey exoskeleton, or qel-dromma robes. Is one better then the other?

Evil knows best

Bad is best my friends, the game gets done faster, everything tends to be easier, less annoying stuff to deal with to. Not to mention the fact you get to scam so many people in so many fun ways, and that just means more bling in yo pocket! Whats funny to me is how "bad" people say they feel when they do bad stuff to a programmed computer character. I say kill Carths son, and be sure to kill him with a smile. If anything im pissed that you cant kill Carth! Kill em all, let Venom sort em out!

I liked DS, though I was opposed to having to kill jolee =( mostly because i never got the full story out of him...

carth ran away like a sissy, mission got lippy saying i wouldnt strike her down if she didnt combat me, i showed her! I should of made zalbaar follow me even after killing mission, for true evil-ness, he died anyway.

I liked the ending better as DS. You get more DS specific gear.
Kill > stun
lightning > stun droid series since it works on everything

As far as credits, etc go. By the end of tantooine(the first planet i always do) im never low thanks to the hutt and swoop racing.

I prefer LS. Darkside may have damage spells, but Lightside has many more. Destroy Droid is a great power. Stasis Field + Adv. Lightsaber Throw made groups of enemies so easy that I stopped using that technique as soon as I got it. Heal is very useful too.

Also, when you get the full force meter, either DS or LS, the LS bonus are much better.

More than anything though, I just enjoy playing Lightside. More personal satisfaction.

I also prefer LS. Both Force Powers and Force Mastery bonuses are better at LS then DS. Also LS is about 4-5 hours of gameplay more and it represents more of a chalenge (it is easy to get DSP and then you need about 2-3 LSP to get back to where you were before DSP on Light/Dark Side Metter).

I hate it that as a DS I had to kill both Jolee and Juhani in the Temple - they are quite usefull on Star Forge.
next play through he is definitely not going into the temple with me...
I don't think you had a choice. I left both Jolee & Juhani on the beach before going through the ritual and they stil came and enter Temple with me.
