Indeed, I've no idea what this guy is there for. But the golden pantaloons did have a little quest attached to them (return them to the nobleman and he complains that they've been shoddily ironed/washed/whatever it was he wanted). Not that you get anything for them, though.

i know this small quest for the pantaloons, but you know they were also in BGI. Now they're back in BGII and there's not a real explanation for their use....check the webpage of K. Dorner (baldurdash i think), there's an interesting story about the pantaloons.....

I have heard that the expoding guy, Viekang, is supposed to be a Bhaal child too. I read somewhere that the Bioware people had said in a chat that it is going to be revealed in ToB. So, I guess we just have to wait for the answers...

In Baldurdash it says that someone actually speaks to you about the pantaloons in baldurs gate. But it doesn't say what he says. Anyone know??????????

Just to point out the guy does not explode.
He is teleported out by some one.
If i remember correctly it says that on the dialogue screen.
And from what i have heard he is also a child of bhaal, but doesn't want the power.
Wants to live a normal life - atleast that is what i have heard.

Huh? Give me Bhaalspawn powers every day! Except maybe that bit which has to do with losing your soul and turning into the Slayer and killing all those around you... Bit awkward in some social settings.
