Aquiring full plate armor in Chapter 1?

Post by Galuf the Dwarf »

Hey there. Been getting back in the SoA to try something different so I can actually beat the expansion for once...

Anyways, I read in a thread from last month about being able to steal a suit of full plate armor from one of the merchants. If so, any idea which one and what I need to do to keep from attracting danger?

Someone else can tell you whom to target; but to avoid detection, give your chosen thief/shoplifter a couple of potions of Master Thievery. That should do it.

Once out in the promenade, look on your map. There should be a 'blip' that shows smith or blacksmith or something. Go into his shop and the dwarf carries 2(?) suits of full plate and plate +1 as well as +2 large and medium shields.

Want a full plate +2 early on?
Get a limited wish scroll, cast it and ask for 1 time wish: ask for a powerfull item and with a decent wis. (12+) you get a neat all-black full plate +2.

As I recall, the same location sells arrows of dispel. I don't remember finding them anywhere else in SoA.

Sorry lompo, but I've known that for a LONG time.

FL & fable: I thought as much. However, the problem is having enough ranks in Pick Pockets and whatever other applicable skills to pull that off. In my Chapter 1 file, I find myself having Yoshimo as my only thief (my main character being a Paladin), and even if I give him 20 more ranks in PP and make him down the only potion of Master Thievery I've had so far, he still gets caught. Any place in Waukeen's Promenade where I can easily steal some more Master Thievery potions?

@Galuf
Not sure about stealing them, but I know you can buy a couple from ribald in the adventurers mart. Also you can go to slums and use the one you have, steal em all from the guy above gaelans house, and down a few when you get back to the promenade.
@Fable
That is correct, I remember posting about that a month ago or so. They are sold from the fat merchant in the same shop as the dwarven smithy.

In case you have a capable spellcaster, you may opt to attack the seven vales party instead of stealing the thing, Korgans old friend Mencar Peeblecrusher is wearing a full plate. Altough the seven vales party has quite a reputation, the guys are rather easy prey imho.
