I am about half way through KOTOR II and noticed an interesting issue that perhaps someone can shed some light on. My favorite combination is Kriea and the Handmaiden. I think the Handmaiden rocks as a fighter and the interaction with Kriea is the most interesting. It seems she is always trying to teach you things. Anyway, when I interact with Kriea, it seems I lose influence when you try to always help people, but you wind up gaining influence with the handmaiden. Like on Nar with the poor beggers. You give the guy 5 credits and Kries scolds you for not letting people fight their own battles, but the then the handmaiden thinks your a great person.
Has anyone else run into this? Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

Your actions influence your NPCs depending on their initial alignment. For instance, Kreia is neutral so she'll frown on anything too goody goody or too evil. Handmaiden starts out light, so of course she'll be influenced when you do good things. Match your actions with their alignment and you should influence them just fine.

I liked it on Nar Shaddaa though when Kreia complimented me on blackmailing the droid from the blind man to give me a discount... I just keep trying to get the best result out of situations, (light side and no influence lost preferably) so I often have to drop Kreia if I give away credits, yes. But I prefer that over losing influence.

I disagree on Kreia being useless. If you give her powers like force speed and force armor, she tends to cast those on herself. Because of the bond she has with your character, those powers affect you too without any cost of moves or force points.
Towards the end of the game, I gave her every buffing power available and I would have like 5 or 6 up arrows next to my portrait while hack and slashing with my saber.
