Haven't found Mordenkainen's Sword yet, but I found spell trigger in the underdark, either from the deep gnome merchant, or the Duergar.

There is something of a random element involved here. In the game I am currently playing, I am in chapter 2 (still messing around in the early quests in the city, doing Korgan's quest in the crypts now) and I have already found Mordenkainen's sword. I unfortunately do not remember exactly where, I think it might have been one of the slaver ambushes, or one of the surface crypts in the Graveyard....

On the other hand, I have not seen spell trigger yet.

No help here. Can't remember either.

However, another plug for sorcerors! You just have to pick the spells when you level up. Very easy.

1. Spell Trigger: Never seen. @Jhareth: You are probably the first who found Spell Trigger! I must be more careful next run.
2. Mordekainen Sword: Passim. Random encounter. As far as I am concerned, I have found Mordekainen Sword in the Prebek's House in ch. 2 (the soonest) and in the Underdark in ch. 5 (the latest).
It seems that you ALWAYS get SOME important spells (Mordekainen Sword belongs to them) but you cannot say when you get them. Therefore, you cannot build your strategy on them. Grrrrrrr!!

I have found that some of spells you find are random...But from my times through the game they seem to be place there at the beginning of the game and once there they are like that for the whole game..

So you cannot reload and get a different one unless you start the whole game over.

Just use the console and get whatever spell you want Image

Unless,of course its your first time through the game, then you must NOT cheat and complete the game without these spells.

Hmmm, now what on EARTH would you want with trigger AND Mordenkainen's? Heh heh,
