i think it works
every weapon works on a doppleganger
some weapons better than others but they work
at least in my game it is

Both "The Silver Dagger - Werebane" and "The Sword of Balduran" are both in the Tales of the Sword Coast Expansion for BG. You have to look around and quest some. For more info, check out GameBanshee's Baldur's Gate Walkthrough and Weapons sites.
