When you install, do you use WinXP special option to make .exe -flie working as you were using older Windows, like 95 or 98? I used that to install.exe and Fallout.exe, and I think this would solve your problem.
This is how to do it:
To install.exe (or setup.exe, can't check which one it is now):
1) Go to you cd-rom drive (I use D:\ for indicating cd-rom drive)
2) Click install.exe with right mousebutton
3) Select Properties
4) Select Compatibility (or something like that) page
5) In highest dropbox, there should read Windows 95 (or another version) It's not enabled, so you have to check the box just over it.
6) After checking checkbox, select from the droplist the version of WIndows. I used Win 98
7) Accpet the changes and close the window
8)Run the install.exe

After installing, do the same thing to Fallout2.exe before starting it first time. WHen you have done it once, I think you don't need to do it again.

Hope this helps

Da_Venom,yep all my drivers are up to date.

Kipi, Im almost 100% sure i did that method when I pulled all the files off of the disk and onto my hard drive, I tried installing just normaly, then I tried by switching it to run with win 95 and 98. Ill give it another shot but I got somethings to do so not right now, thanks for the suggestion.

Another suggestion:
What about if you try to remove all entries from registery that has something to do with Fallout or Interplay AFTER you have played it? Don't uninstall the game, just remove all registery things and try to launch the game.

Also, what about after installing the game and before launching it you check what does those registery entries contain. Write them down, launch the game and shut it down and then check registery again. If there is no changes, then your problem has nothing to do with registery.

Hope these helps you a bit

lol man Im just not getting you on that one. Anyways Sorry for the whole lack of response the past few days I've been real bussie. but tomorrow Im going to dedicate some free time to running though all the tips Ive been given in the past few posts and I hope to god this works.

and if buy "is this also when fallouts quit's?" you mean does it give me something when it automaticaly quits. well, it doesnt automaticly quit or exit or lock up/crash. I have to exit the game though the menu, or ctrl.alt, del then end task it. The game plays once then if it is exited in any way it just ****s the bed.

holy **** I learned my lesson here. I have lagit fallouts but a.... not so legit version of norton. well as it turns out this not so ligit norton is a piece of grabage. I went online and did one of those free virus scans, think it was panda soft, and it picked up a virus that my norton hadnt discovered. think it was w32 jeefo, well what the virus does is infect all of your .exe files and increases them in size by about 32,000kb or something like that. This virus didn effect any other game except the fallout series, well 1&2 at least tactics ran fine. So let this be a lesson to me to not get hacked copies of virus scaning software, or at least use ;agit ones on-line. God damn it I feel like an ******* for wasting peoples time but hey blame it on norton (I always hated norton hence why I didnt have the respect to buy it). So thanks for all the help and suggestions.
