game always returns to desktop

I've been playing for a while now. I am now at the Society of Leopold. I am not sure if it is a glitch or something, but everytime I try to kill one of the guys with the automatic, my game freezes and I go back to my desktop. I am not sure if it is my computer or the game itself. Sometimes when my game just starts up, if I just move forward by a little bit, the game freezes as well.
For those of you knowlegable with computers out there, I have pressed Crt, Alt, Delete, and have canceled every running program except for explorer and systray. I have also updated my graphics card. I have the requirements to run the game so that should not be a problem either. I can roam around all I want outside of the house, but once I go inside and try to kill one guy in particular, the game shuts off and I return to my desktop.
Any Suggestions?

If this is an extremely stupid set of suggestions, please forgive me. But have you tried simply minimizing all the graphic settings or, alternatively, simply avoid that fight using stealth, or, finally, look for a quieter way to kill the guy? I've got no idea why one guy in particular would be problematic. I'm sorry I can't be more help.

no this is a Game Problem. many players have that Problem.me,too.
i can play the Game without any lags, i have even 1024 RAM.
but sometimes it just crashes to Desktop.sometime i can play up to 1 Hour
and nothing happens, and sometimes it crashes right after i loaded a Game
and made the first step. and it happens on Different places in the Game.
it even happened as i tried to reload my Weapon, and bang, back to Desktop.

and i have shut down all apllications, too.

and if you look in the Vampire folder after the crash, theres an Crash.log or something. theres written that this is an Access Violation
but i dont know what an Access Violation is.

and in this Crash log theres also written, how much RAM you have.

for example in my crash was written that i have 1024 RAM and that
80% are in use.

after the first crash i thought, that it would crash because of my just
upgraded RAM, but if 80% and more are in use, it cant be the RAM.

and my Graphic Card never had any Problems. so it has to be the Game,
it has many bugs anyway, and this one is another Bug of the Game.

does it say anything about virtual memery?

if it does right click on my computer, then go to advanced , then by performance click on settings, then advanced, by virtual memory click on change and change it . I hope this helps, as i had the same trouble with VtM:B.
