Actualy the console never shows up. And if you're planning to use cheats know this:
1- you have to write it on the air (so be sure to do it slow and make it right)
2- search on the net for the list of the items name because there're certain items that you provably will never get like for example:
SPOILERS
Malak's Armor

I will try to explain it.
Open up the game directory.
Open the file called swkotor2.
Now, under the title Game Options (it looks like this: [Game Options]...) type, in a blank line, EnableCheats=1. Save the file.
Cheats are now inabled.
To give yourself and item type this `giveitem *item*.
Items are coded. For example, if you want a robe you have to type `giveitem a_robe_16.
That will put the item that is represented by the number 16 into your inventory.
In this example the item would be Zeison Sha Warrior Armor (because this is what #16 is).
Yes, it is a little complicated...
You can find a list of items and the codes for items on most cheat sites. I use the gamespot KotOR II cheats but that is just me. I am sure there are many other sites that would load up faster. Gamespot is a little strange...
Hope this helped.
Kienan.

(SPOILERS) question about cheat side affects (SPOILERS)
I'm playing through the game for my first time as a major lightsider and I was having some trouble in the tomb on korriban with spoiler
Malak, so I used some cheats to make myself stronger. It worked fine and then I decided wanted to upgrade my lightsabre and come back. I went back to the ebon hawk to use the bench and thats where my problem happened.
SPOILERS
So I go in the hawk and T3 comes up to me and says something, I automaticly respond with something like well check again and I don't trust him then I make a comment about that thing he calls a head. Then it goes to Visas and Handmaidan talking about me. Visas and Handmaidan I think is normal. My question is about the part with T3, I don't get DS points or anything, I just wanted to know if this was supposed to happen or am I supposed to get choices. I would like to remain light side and choose my own responses.
So is this just the price I pay for cheating or is it normal?

Hmmm. You should get three ways to respond, one of which would increase your influence with it. Are you sure you weren't holding down 1,2 or 3 during this conversation?
I don't think a bug all the way over on the tomb would cause this...

Walk among them... these beasts that are less than you are. See their strength, see how easily you fall to their muscle and skill. Why do you stand for this, why do you submit to the flesh when death is bred in your bones?
